Great Roster Resources: Multi-platform converting/porting goldmine

Postby truetothegame13 » Fri Jan 19, 2018 11:18 pm

Xbox 360 & original xbox, Madden, NFL2K5, and NCAA Console community files can be broken down with roster editors for those consoles (found below), and converted to our rosters, through csv/excel/spreadsheet). Here are 2 roster editors for madden 360, and 1 editor for NFL2K5. The madden rosters they have built can be found on operationsports.com. The NFL 2K5 rosters can also be found below. The exported madden roster csv/excel tables are almost identical to madden 08 pc. Just need to delete the tables 08 doesn't use. There is also the annual rosters for the final ncaa football game ea made. Ncaa 14. the "ea generic db editor"/roster-dynasty editor has been updated for ncaa 14.

Since I have been gaining experience modifying Madden 08 PC rosters through cvs, it is easy using these other editors/csv exports, because the field definitions in csv and roster editors are nearly identical. Using horizon (db extract program) was the hardest part, especially since I had to learn how to properly install my files on 360 myself. If you intend to play on the 360 console, read the paragraph below the following 3 links.

By the way, if you get a import error, preventing you from importing a whole roster, follow the following directions = "When I saved a csv it put ";" instead of "," so I opened in text and found/replaced all using the edit menu. Afterwards saved the file and selected encryption type to Unicode."

* If you intend to play on 360 console, remember to always make sure the 3 profile-gamertag/console/etc IDs in the gamesave data, located in the save/resign section of horizon, on your usb, before you goto play, the gamesave that you downloaded from someone else, is changed to the same of your own gamesave IDs (copy/paste). That will prevent a "file corrupted" error. If porting one version, ie madden 13 to madden 14, for use on console, google your issue when problems arise. Posts at operation sports will help.

This is what a roster export from like madden 13 looks like. It is a 2002-03 roster. 1 file is the csv/xlsx. The zip is the roster and csv/xlsx. Take a look at the csv/xlsx. It is so similar to M08.

So, if we wanted the newest roster for the annual FI mod; People with say madden 18 for xbox 360 would happily upload their roster/latest roster update, to operationsports. You download, open the roster with horizon, extract by adding ".MC02" at the end of the roster name. Open with a console roster editor. Export csv/roster. Remove all fields not in madden 08 pc. Fix odds and ends. Import into 08 PC roster. Tada.

Last year's release was up to date including ratings. That made me extract the ratings easily since it reflects EA ratings real time.
But for this year (2017-2018), few months ago, EA ratings aren't real time so I decided to stop checking on it and extract it by myself from EA.

The guys at OS pirated all of our rosters. It's only fair that we do the same.

Please credit the authors. They deserve it, even though it took a fight for them to credit the pioneers who's backs they stood on.

.. the '02 roster is okay from my limited experience on 360. No FAs though.

Someone over there talked about porting the 2k rosters over. Not sure if that ever happened.

By chance, do you know if Xans DB Editor for 360 allows player stat editing?

I've never got an answer on that from anyone.

Also there are dats that are plug-n-play from Madden ps2 that work with Madden08 pc. I use several ps2 dat files with madden08 pc. I just drop them into the madden folder. The best one is the animdata.dat, the prize jewel. Revanfan hinted that the playbook were updated from ps2 madden. So I asked my friend to borrow Madden 12 PS2. I searched Yahoo for Madden 12 game features and it qouted: "The playbooks added 15 new plays (not sure how many per team). 100 new tackle animations, plus 40 new gang tackle animations. Turned me out! There is one glitch though. The players and coaches on the sidelines are stretched. But the game plays great, no crashes! The files work with the latest FI Mod.

I am looking at the speech dat files to see if Chris Colliinsworth can replace John Madden in color commentary using Madden 09 ps2 dats. I call it Madden Fusion!

That certainly hears interesting. What kind of new animations does the AnimData.dat file adds to the game? And which other files you use?

Also, the Playbooks come from Madden NFL 11 PS2, the Gamedata.dat file to be specific, adds some new formations and plays.

Originally I was just looking for newer playbooks. The team does such a great job with the mods. That led to tinkering with a few files, playbooks, animations, roles and music. The animations info was listed new features updated from Madden 11 PS2 animations to M12 ps2. 100 new tackles and 40 gang tackles. Using the DFR, I imported the M12 Ps2 playbooks directly into the M08 pc gamedat. I updated all 32 team books, but not the generic books. There were 10 or so music files imported into the sounddat. Animdat and Tattoodat were simple plug-n-play. Just screwing around between fielding DFR, I noticed the first 15 hexbytes between files were similar in some of them, so I extracted from m12 to m08.

When I imported the playbooks, I didn't make any changes, so if you want to take a look or use to possibly update further, pm please.

If there are new tackle animations with using the PS2 Madden 12 animdata.dat file, then it would be a great addition for modding the game. Jay.paige, could you upload that file?
