BR_DreadlocK wrote:Here are a possible "solution" for low end PS2/PS3 generic controls!

This works for those who have the buttons order like this:
-- 1 --
4 --- 2
-- 3 --

Before anything, the control must be configured in profile like this:
Passing: 10 9 4 3 2 1 5 6 7 8 (or 10 9 4 3 2 1 7 8 5 6)*
Rushing: 10 9 4 3 2 1 5 6 7 8 (or 10 9 4 3 2 1 7 8 5 6)
Receiving: 10 9 4 3 2 1 5 (or 10 9 4 3 2 1 7)
Defense: 10 9 4 3 2 1 5 6 7 8 (or 10 9 4 3 2 1 7 8 5 6)
Blocking: 10 9 4 3 2 1 5 6 7 8 (or 10 9 4 3 2 1 7 8 5 6)

*Some controllers have the buttons 5-6 on L2-R2 position and 7-8 on L1-R1, in this case the right order is that in parentheses.

Some people play with the standard setup (10 9 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8), that is an option and the buttons will work with this configuration too.
Works for Gamepads too (instead of Logitech).

The problems are the same as reordering the normal Gamepad buttons...
For example, the play selection must be selected with Triangle, Circle and X (but now with the right icons), instead of Square, X and Circle...
and when pressing R2 in game the buttons of right menu dont match with the names of the players...
There are other little things, but nothing that can make the game unplayable...

In the file "PS Generic Controls.rar" there are 3 files:
"PS 1234 5678.tpf" is for the (10 9 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8) control setup.
"PS 4321 5678.tpf" is for the (10 9 4 3 2 1 5 6 7 8) control setup.
"PS 4321 7856.tpf" is for the (10 9 4 3 2 1 7 8 5 6) control setup.

I hope you enjoy it and big thanks to Gridiron!

i need this file pls, anyone can re-up the file?

Rounding out this PS3onPC service pack...
MADDEN NFL PC commands translated into PS3 symbols

After you make these changes to your MADDEN PC installation,
and make a printout of the PS3 controller command reference sheets,
then those who are accustomed to playing MADDEN on a PlayStation3,
can feel right at home playing MADDEN '08 on your PC.

uh, i still don't understand. i'm looking at my directories in my EA Sports/Madden 08 folders and i don't see .TPF files anywhere for us to replace with your TPF files. do these tpf files from your zip file have to be injected into a DAT file or something? or just move them to a certain directory? I'm new to this. just started reading about this modding stuff today.

I want madden 08 to display playstation button icons no matter what gamepad i use. Mostly i'd like to use my Nintendo Switch Pro Controller on my pc, but i want it to still display playstation button icons because i'm use to that layout more than anything. Madden 08 detects it as a directinput device, so it just displays 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and so on, icons.

Madden doesn't have .tpf files, they are mod files you have to load with texmod.
