In a normal summer I work with the Varsity and JV guys , in stances, getting off the ball, downfield blocking, weight room and LB play(reading keys, taking on blockers, using off hand moves...etc). My day will come in upward movement..I learned more this year cause the lack of true athletes we had were I taught more.

Maybe you go around town recruiting 7th & 8th graders to play for Annandale?

Already in the works... plus the Commissioner of the Annandale Boys&Girls Club, is the head coach I worked with before going on to Annandale High School. And we already set up times to meet with their kids.

Great, it should be a fun off season for you! Just remind them, size don't matter if you want it more than the next guy! And success comes after desire, effort and practice in the dictionary!

Good day at Atoms camp....
Been able to get out and running hills and lifting..
Two of the older players (11th graders) I wanted to see where they were in max bench.. Both hit the 225 mark and both struggled at 245. I had both of these guys as Freshman and its great to see them get stronger.
Me and one other coach have been religiously in the weight room pushing our guys on technique and building strength.
Our head coach has the outside of running hills or bleachers( doing gorrillas).
Today was 50 strong of raising 9th-12th graders..they are working hard and becoming a team...

We have just completed our third day of our GREEN DAYS...( otherwise OTAs). Right now look like we have only 9 freshman, but more will be coming.
I have been working with the OL getting guys to understand we want to be fast, aggressive and be confident in their play.
We have gone over Indy,Buc, Ohio, Saint, Patriot and Pass Pro.
At the end of our practices we go thru a pace...where we start at the 40 and drive to score. this is against air but we look for quickness to the line, crispness off the ball , running plays to perfection. This could last 16 plays ( 10-15 minutes) or as HC Scott will say "we can be here till tomorrow,if we can't get this right!".
I ending today telling the OLs ...."when you take the field ..you will own it, you will score on everyplay or drive the opponent into the ground and play for each other!!"
Thursday will be our last Green Day, back to lifting and running the next two weeks....August 2..then ALL HELL IS BREAKIN LOOSE!! FULL PADS..FULL COLLISIONS..what a beautiful thought and things to come!!!

Last two days of conditioning/lifting next week....so far we been progressing very good. Guys are getting stronger, but we are losing one of our starting OT/DE to relocation. Defensively we look good going to a 3-5-3, I like the old Oklahoma scheme as we drop a hybrid SS into the ILBs. Offensively new wrimkles in how we attack the oppostion defense.
Then August 2 ..we start for a state championship...

After a week with the Varsity and JV teams.. been heavily working with the OL. August 9 started my Freshman guys, so far a small group of 17, but we expect more as we start afternoon practices on the 16 th. Offensively working with Backs, OL to get stances and our core plays. Defensively the front 7 we are going with ( 4-3 shade). Lbs learning their read steps and their base assignments. Thursday started pads for those who were eligible. So far a group that listens and no d**kheads ( again so far).
