Jags Pick Up 5th-Year Option for Bortles...
Re: Jags Pick Up 5th-Year Option for Bortles...
I think Bortles is OK. He's a good kid, stays out of trouble, and he's shown some talent. He wasn't awesome last year, but I'm pretty sure he's be better this year. Good decision to keep him.

He had a pretty good season in 2015. The next season...not so much.

I don't think stat padding equals to a good season.

Exactly. His big 2015 was padded by a bunch of garbage time TDs. My biggest problem with Bortles is that he just doesn't pass the eye test. He looks completely unnatural when he throws a football. I've honestly never seen an NFL level QB struggle to throw a spiral. I'm mean, really? He makes Tim Tebow's throwing motion look smooth. His accuracy is really atrocious. The poor receivers have to stop their routes and contort their bodies to adjust to his poor throws and there is just no timing or rhythm. The guy even came out and said that throwing a football does not come naturally to him. My good friend (who I go to most of the games with) and I have actually nicked named him the "Unnatural." He's seems like a good dude. He's just not an NFL QB. And, with that in mind, I've also completely lost confidence in Dave Caldwell the GM. If you miss this badly on the #3 overall pick at the QB position, sorry, but you don't know what you're doing. My prediction: the Jaguars will be taking a QB high in round one of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Look at the slow-mo of that throw. He doesn't even belong in the NFL.

Okay, yeah... I could have thrown it better than that.
That was a baseball throw.
Tebow time?

Back in the draft day
Bortles was a reach... But what another option
Is avaliable for the jags in that time?
Who could replace blake umder center?

Even JaMarcus Russell can throw better than that.
