From what I've seen, he was underperforming and struggling. I think it was the change to #9.

The uniform number had nothing to do with it. It was because he wasn't playing great, Neal is coming back, and they didn't want to risk paying him the $9 million guarantee next year if he gets hurt. What bugs me is that they didn't just do it back months ago and save money this year too... but I guess they weren't sure how their linebackers would look so it made sense to keep him at the time.
I wish him well with the Packers.

Not a great fit for Quinns scheme. Smith is a step slow, after Quinn had guys like Bobby Wagner and Deion Jones manning the middle of his D.
Should fit well in GB. Easily the biggest hole on that D. They've been cycling players in and out since they let Blake Martinez go.
