Conflict with emulation software detected

I couldn't find a fix for this anywhere so if anyone could help that would be great.
Here's a breakdown of everything I did:
-I torrented Madden 08 from the internet archive (Link Deleted)
-I installed it and that went perfectly fine
-But then when I try to run it it just gives me the error "Conflict with emulation software detected" (https://imgur.com/a/D9kUL8l) It does this when I try to run it with the mainapp and the madden08 applications.
-I then tried to patch it with the 4.0 patch (viewtopic.php?f=22&t=14718&start=10#p42482) to see if that fixes anything and I still get the same error
I'm running it as administrator and I tried running it in compatibility mode with XP, vista, etc.. I'm all out of ideas at this point so here I am. If I'm doing anything stupid feel free to yell at me. I'd just like to play a good madden that isn't madden 12.
Also I have Windows 8 if that makes a difference
