First depth chart
QB: 8 Jeremy McManus (96/35), 3 Darryl Rawls (81/27), 5 Derek Hawkins (81/22)
McManus is regressing, losing 7 SPD this offseason alone. But we think he can be the starter another 1 to 3 years.
HB: 40 Xavier Waters (93/27), 30 Alfred Lewis (78/26), 29 George Mauro (82/25), 22 Sterling Maclin (73/22)
Waters is the workhorse back. Lewis gives a power back dimension, while Mauro and Maclin are more speed-based.
FB: 26 Timmy Abbrederis (99/35), 83 Aaron McClain (99/31), 47 Lee Mauro (83/22)
TE: 49 Nate Ijalana (93/28), 86 Donald Bulaga (88/30), 84 Ricardo Phillips (78/22), 87 Levine Schwartz (85/34), 80 Mike Jones (77/30)
Ijalana and McClain should get their load of targets next year, and Phillips and Bulaga can help.
Bulaga is also great on special teams, being the lead blocker on kick returns. We expect the blockers on the second row to be Mauro, McClain, DT Bryant and Abbrederis.
WR: 11 Donald Wolfe (94/28), 16 Weston Swoope (84/25), 12 Louis Hill (78/27), 14 Charles Novak (91/32)
Wolfe is the clear WR1, with Swoope and Hill competing for targets. Novak has started to regress, but is still quick (SPD 97), so he should be the primary kick/punt returner one more year.
LT: 71 Ricardo Mitchel (95/30), 75 Justin Hawley (81/29)
LG: 60 Aaron Brown (90/26), 78 Terrence Thomas (75/30)
C: 65 Denard Sutton (82/24), 74 Chris Branch (74/32)
RG: 76 Chris Green (92/24)
RT: 77 Denard Gronkowski (94/31)
Almost the same as last year, expect Sutton will now be the starting center.
LE: 96 Za'Darius Mancz (90/29), 94 Michael Showers (76/25), 72 Richard Lewis-Moore (73/21)
DT: 93 Mike Waddle (93/27), 95 Connor Harrison (89/29), 99 Joe Bryant (73/34)
RE: 92 Scott Williamson (91/25), 79 E.J. Newhouse (84/23), 98 Kyle Ridley (81/26)
The starters should stay the same, but there will be some activity among backups.
LOLB: 57 Uani' Penn (86/27), 50 Robert Koyack (75/25)
MLB: 90 Damion Cooper (88/29), 97 Austin Sterling (82/23), 52 Ramon Cox (75/26), 56 Ricky Vellano (71/30), 58 Chris Swaim (69/21)
ROLB: 54 Jeremiah Kalil (83/27), 55 Will Wilson (78/23), 51 Aldrick Koyack (75/27), 59 Josh Hayward (74/22)
LB/CB: 91 Joe Williams (86/28)
Some additions and position switches among the LB corps. The battle should be fierce.
CB: 24 A.J. Levitre (91/30), 21 Chykie Jones (92/28), 27 Phil Quinn (79/22), 43 Tim McCown (73/24), 88 A'Shawn Woods (77/28)
FS: 28 Jordan Thomas (99/29), 48 Zach Warford (85/30), 44 DeAndre Zuttah (80/21), 37 Dakota Larsen (83/25)
SS: 31 Jake Smith (87/28), 33 Everson Williams (81/26), 38 Shaq Watson (77/21), 45 Jay Jenkins (76/26), 39 Brandon Cleveland (78/24)
Jake Smith is the new starter at strong safety. And there is a lot of competition for roster spots.
K: 4 David Rollins (81/35)
P: 13 Dontrelle Kaepernick (99/28)
Same thing as last year.

That always bugs me about Madden. No player, no matter what, would lose speed that fast. Losing physical ability is a slow, methodical process. It happens over many years, not all at once. Plus, these are athletes at the top of their game. Don't you think they'd train to slow down the aging process as much as they can? I'd say you'd probably be forgiven if you slow down that regression a bit haha.

Colin's descendant is... a punter? How strange. Can he at least kind of throw the ball? Haha.

Re: Anchorage Blizzard in the FI Football League
Yeah, the speed of regression bugs me too but I don’t want to slow it down for my team and not for CPU teams. Although, on second thought, I do a lot of monitoring and boosting of CPU players, so I’d probably not be cheating if I did it to one of my players every once in a while. It doesn’t bother me too much about McManus, since I don’t actually scramble and he’s still at SPD 70something (started at 92). But I’m upset about my kick returner. Maybe I could remove a single SPD point every year, which would give me 2-3 more good seasons. He’d be at SPD 98 this season and 97 the next. Hmm.
Yes, Colin’s descendant is a punter. They’re people too
I don’t remember if I threw with him, but he once caught a TD pass.

Team profile: Springfield Storm
The Storm finished 0-16 last season. It was discovered that they played most of the year with a 30-man roster.
(I had to sell my team in the offseason, and when I reacquired it, I forgot to relinquish control to the CPU in the coach options.)
This led to a lot of monitoring and attribute-boosting, and now Springfield could go from 0-16 to a playoffs berth. This won't be easy, as the RailRiders are also in their division, but they now have a roster to allow that hope.

Week 9 update
With all the trades and offseason activity, it was believed the Blizzard would take a step back. Not at all, and it is not for lack of worthy opponents!
The ground game has had its ups and down, but not to worry! Jeremy McManus is still in great form. He is on pace for another 100-TD season, a mark which, before him, we thought was unattainable.
Joe Williams transitioned well into the LB/CB position, and the whole defense is on a roll.
So is returner Charles Novak, who despite losing 1 SPD in the offseason, has scored in every game so far. He has returned 6 kicks and 7 punts to the endzone in just 8 games.
Aaron McClain opens the season by scoring on a catch-and-run.
Donald Wolfe gets behind the defense and scores a long TD.
Charles Novak scores on a kick return, thanks to a crucial block by rookie Shaq Watson.
Weston Swoope is being involved more, and responds well.
Novak scores again against the RailRiders, this time on a punt. Newcomer Austin Sterling makes a great block downfield.
Everson Williams jumps en route to his first career sack.
Jake Smith with the endzone interception.
Joe Williams returns an interception for a touchdown.
Nate Ijalana scores a long TD against the Zerstorers.
Chykie Jones has a pick-six against the Apocalypse.
Donald Bulaga has taken advantage of his chances.
A brutal block by Austin Sterling leads to another Novak TD.
McClain catches a pass in the endzone.
Great block by Wolfe to allow Ijalana into the endzone.
Phil Quinn forces the fumble on special teams, which is returned by Bulaga for a TD.
Novak scores one of his 3 punt return TDs against the Wolves.
A.J. Levitre intercepts a pass intended for Luke Stoneburner.
McClain scores against the Vipers.
Jake Smith has an 85-yard pick-six.
Novak continues his streak by breezing past the opposition.
