Is it possible to create a custom playbook (offense) with play action and audibles?
I have a number of formations setup already but I was unable to make play action plays with some of them. Play action only works if you import plays from other playbooks it seems. I had to import Goal Line Formation plays from coaches playbooks, and when I tried to edit them to see how the play action play would work, it would remove the play action concept entirely.
Another problem I have with custom playbooks is audibles. For some odd reason, Madden won't allow you to audible your play unless the game recognizes the formation/play from another playbook. When you audible in Madden, you would normally get the list of audibles on the right side of the screen. But with custom formations, it's impossible.
Has anyone ran into this issue before?
Edit: The "Ask Madden" feature also has a bit of a problem. On your first drive, it goes straight to the Goal Line Formation plays.

Alright Kevin5455, here are the answers to your questions.
1st up Play Action: Using the Madden Playbook editor 1.2.0 as an example. It's fairly easy to setup play action for existing plays. First you need to have the QB route Logic go something like this:
Step 0 - Hand off Ball: turn Right; Left Hand 149 Degrees
Step 1 - Hand Off Ball Fake; Handoff Receiver FB#1 (poso = 1); Hand out; Drop Back
Step 2 - Pass Ball; QB Rollout = False, 0 yards; 0 degrees
Then you need to have the back's logic so that he pretends to receive the handoff and either go out for a pass or pass block!
Step 0 - Initial Anim: Back Step; 90 degrees
Step 1 - Receive Handoff; 4 yards; 90 degrees; 100 percent speed
Step 2 - Pass Block; 0 seconds, Normal
So in that example, QB is turning right (149 degrees) faking handoff to the FB, then dropping back to pass. The FB is faking he receives the handoff and pass blocks until the play is over. You can also assign the primary Wr the QB should look for.
Next up, Audibles: There are 2 types of audibles. the first set of 5 can be assigned by simply selecting the Playbook Audibles tab, and choosing any play you want.
The second type are the "Right Stick Audibles", which are assigned when you edit the
"Play Data" when you double click on any play within a formation. The Right stick audibles (are 4 per formation).
Finally, the Ask Madden: You have to setup the Playbook AI for John to give you the best play given the situation.
The AI is set by definitions & game situation: (Goal line Runs, Goal line passes, Run - Draws/inside/outside) etc. So you need to add the correct play type to the AI for John to give you the best option given the down/distance situation!
If you've downloaded my 2020 playbooks+Tools pack, you have everything you need.
Edit: Easiest is to just copy/import the play-action routes from the tags I built in the 1.2.0 editor tool. I forgot to mention the Shot gun play-action info, but again you can just copy/import one from the correct tag.
