This is the short story of the biggest draft bust of my franchise - who somehow stuck around the league for 10+ years.
At the start of each off season, I see who are the lowest rated and worst players of the whole league and compare them with the top free agents. The AI doesn't understand it's smarter to let go of a backup 12 year vet with 84 speed and sign a younger guy with less AWR but with 93 speed.
So that's how I also found the worst free agent off this year.
Let me introduce to you, 10 year veteran Left/Right End, Jarvis Moss, who was just signed by the Indianapolis Colts.
=====================================================================================================================
In real life, Jarvis Moss was picked 17th overall in the 2007 NFL Draft by the Denver Broncos. He played there for 4 years.
He played 6 games in his first, 12 in his second, then 7, then 9 and only had 3,5 sacks in 4 seasons in Denver.
He then played as a backup in Oakland and in the end his career reads like
53 games 48 tackles 6.0 sacks
But that's reality. I don't know what he does nowadays, so I hope he still has the money he made in the NFL.

Now to the franchise.
My franchise started in 2007 and Jarvis had just been drafted 17th overall by the Broncos – being third on the depth chart behind 2 players that were rated slightly ahead of him.
In the 5 years at Denver (2007 - 20011) he produced 6 tackles and one sack – a complete waste of a pick.
He was let go and picked up by the Lions for the 2012 season.
There, except for 2 pass deflections, he produced nothing.
He was again let go and moved on to the Eagles.
At the Eagles he was backup to Trent Cole and got on the field a bit more.
With the little time he was given in the 4 years he played in Philadelphia, Jarvis Moss lit up the league with eye popping stats… no, no he didn’t. He got 1 sack every season and 9 tackles in total.
It is now the start of 2017 and Moss is picked up by the Colts to play the role of speed rusher. Moss still has his speed... and that’s all he has going for him.
In conclusion, in 10 years in the League, he has racked up 15 tackles and 4 sacks. Less than half a sack per season.
Real bad for a 17th overall pick.

Man, that kind of speed and athleticism seems wasted as a DE. I'd definitely would have, at least me who prefers a 3-4 defense, moved him to OLB. He looks like he could cover zones and TEs decently, and have the speed/agility to beat RTs, at least early in his career. Plus that mediocre strength is mediocre.
Did they blew his development, oh so much.

Semper fi
If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Always have a plan. And a backup plan. And backups to the backup.
And be able to improvise.

as an 81 rookie, I didnt see he was stuck behind two 82 ovr players, one of the same age.
I didnt check the computer teams back then, or I wouldve moved him to the other side or to olb. Or traded Ekuban.
Crazy to see players like these, but the Dline is really weird.
