I bought the Logitech F310, and everything works fine, just the buttons 7 and 8 are not working. They do the same as the buttons 5 and 6, just in the wrong order. So button 7 does the same move as button 6, and button 8 does the same as button 5. That's a bit annoying since I have no stiff arm and i am missing some audible options without the buttons 7 and 8.
Has anyone an idea what I could do (actual driver is installed)?

I found this thread on the F310......viewtopic.php?f=22&t=14682#p38482

I picked up an XBOX 360 (Rock Candy) from Walmart for 25.00 and I have been pleased thus far.....even though I have always been a Playstation configuration guy......

I had to download a driver from Microsoft but now the icons work and everything

Hmmm, would you link me to the driver that did help you?
I thought that the F310 works fine with Madden, but it seems that there are still problems, since madden does not recognize the buttons 7 and 8. So maybe your driver can help me, or ae there other ways?

I say might, because I have not actually bought one to test, but I'd bet $8.99 that its a another PS3 generic,
therefore totally compatible with the Logitech Dual Action after the registry controller name update.

I was at my local Micro Center, and decided to buy one of these $8.99 controllers to check its compatibility.
It seems that this is a whole new class of PS3 gamepad. :o
This latest hybrid beast does not post as a generic PS3 controller, but
It posts in Windows® as an actual PLAYSTATION(R)3 controller... yet it has no rumble/FF capability!

Because my system has MotionInJoy installed, it detects a PLAYSTATION(R)3 stick as a MotioninJoy Virtual Game Controller device.
If MiJ is not installed, then the standard Windows® PlayStatiom3 gamepad driver has the buttons and analogs all flipped around from where they need to be.
To set up the non-rumble PLAYSTATION(R)3 TTX gamepad buttons in the MiJ driver, one selects the Xinput-Default Xbox 360 Controller Emulator mode.
Using that driver, the first 8 TTX gamepad buttons and both analogs behave perfectly as a XBOX 360 wired clone.
(I have not yet tested buttons 9 - 12.)

Although XBOX gamers will be perfectly fine, I need to load a Logitech or PS3 button icon replacement .tpf with TexMod for me to be comfortable using this stick in MADDEN.

Bottom line, decent quality, low priced, MADDEN compatible PS3 form factor joysticks are still readily available. :D

In one of the .tpfs linked above I found an oversight.
In the one to replace XBOX button icons with Logitech Dual Action button icons,
the XBOX button icon for the [RB] receiver did not get replaced with the corresponding Logitech button icon [6].
It is fixed in the attached .tpf.

XBOX_to_Logitech_Legacy_Icons.zip
TexMod .tpf to convert XBOX button icons to the Logitech Dual Action icons.

I thought that I found a rather nasty problem with buttons 9-12 when using the MiJ driver with the TTX Tech PC controller,
but the bug was that the DS3 tool (MiJ) requires Internet Explorer to be running on the system to properly setup a new controller for the first time, and I had disabled IE8 on my XP rig due to potential security problems.

After I fixed this undocumented dependency problem by re-enabling IE, then the correct driver was loaded,
and MADDEN sees the attached TTX Tech PC controller as a fully functioning XBOX 360 wireless controller
with all the buttons and axis functioning properly!!!

After the driver was updated, I re-disabled IE8 for greater "security" in XP.
Once the correct MiJ PS3 to XBOX gamepad drivers are installed, the MiJ program run in local mode does not require an internet connection.

That $9 TTX was a lot easier on the budget than the $50 asking price for a genuine SONY DS3 controller, and this TTX gamepad feels good with MADDEN.
It's time to give my Logitech Dual Action a well deserved rest, from now on my console mode games will be played using a TTX and a Snakebyte.

If you own an authentic SONY manufactured DualShock 3 controller, then you may want to check this solution out.

Hi, I'm playing Madden 08 on a Mac, but it doesn't recognize my Xbox 360 Controller's layout, it gives me the 1, 2, 3 etc.. buttons, not X, A, etc... Is there anyway to remap the games gamepad/controller layout? I've googled for the last hour or so, and found nothing useful.

Any help is appreciated.

I had to reinstall Windows® on my laptop after it would not accept any keyboard inputs.

I discovered that the MotionInJoy site is kaput, so if I want to use my PS3/DS3 clone controller, I'm out of luck.
There are older rev 6 versions of MiJ available that support the local mode, but those older versions don't support my SNAKEBYTE clone controller.

The well received X360ce emulator driver works on my computer, but will not work with MADDEN 08. :(

The well received SCP Server X-BOX emulator driver only works with genuine SONY DS3 gamepads. :o

In another thread, akilgour13 mentioned the NVIDIA Shield console.
It comes with a PlayStation form factor controller which may be just the device for MADDEN PC... if it is X-BOX compatible and someone makes a clone to reduce that $60 price tag by 75%.

Until then, the best option for those who want to obtain a new controller with the PlayStation form factor for use with MADDEN PC is to find a Thrustmaster with the Logitech button layout, or a generic PS3 gamepad such as the Afterglow, and then perform the registry name hack so that MADDEN will accept it.

I'm assuming that it's illegal to upload the .exe for motioninjoy. If not, I have the v071001 version. I google'd local mode and it seems like that just means no internet required because I know I stopped using motioninjoy because of that, but I did use it to install the correct drivers and I then used BetterDS3 for the controller after that because it doesn't need to be online to work. Not sure if it matters, but I use a PS3 controller plugged in with the charging cable and if this is completely irrelevant just ignore it.

It is not illegal at all.
The reason that I only now just discovered that the MiJ site was offline, is because for the past couple of years I've been using the v071001version in local mode exclusively. Therefore I'm not sure what advantage BetterDS3 actually provides to the user.

In my post above I neglected to include the fact that I am trying to install MiJ on my ex Vista now Win7 laptop, and the v071001 local mode will not detect either the Snakebyte or TTX DS3 clone controller when running under Windows®7.
The MiJ v6 local mode does seem to work under Windows®7, but I don't have a supported controller to be sure.
I think that for most people, those who are using v6 MiJ (DS3 tool) with a genuine SONY® PS3 controller, there is no problem at all.

To make sure that I wasn't doing anything wrong, I retrieved my ancient 2002 desktop running Windows® XP from the basement, and after the hassle of downloading and installing .net 3.5 and recommended associated updates, I then installed the MotioninJoy v0.71001 drivers and setup the local mode.
MiJ v7 works great running on Windows®XP, the Snakebyte and the TTX are detected, but no joy running on Windows®7.
It probably works OK in Windows®7 with a real SONY® DS3, but there is no way that I'll spend that much on a controller.

A few MotioninJoy v0.7.1001 installer download URLS:
http://fileband.com/pmqi91mpaeyh.html
http://filemac.com/2adzbvgcnkrc.html
http://depositfiles.com/files/83f7it8pd

The MiJ v7 local (offline) version that I've been using for the past couple of years is described here:
http://web.archive.org/web/201410222048 ... =66&t=3551
And it can be obtained here: http://www.mediafire.com/?49d1nntetqajxce

If anyone gets the v0.7.1001 offline/local mode to work in Windows®7 with a clone DS3 controller, I'd sure like to know.

All of my PS3 clone controllers (2 Snakebytes and a TTX Tech) have the same VID/PID code.
VID_0E8F&PID_0003

I assume that those two manufacturers not the only ones using this, and there is a possibility that most all PS3 clones share this ID.
So if your non-genuine Dual Shock 3 controller has the same VID/PID, I feel confident that it will work with MiJ v7 (on XP).

32 bit - http://www.hardcoreware.net/files/Motio ... signed.zip
Local mode - http://www.hardcoreware.net/files/motio ... a.Full.zip

To complete this update I'll repeat the installation tutorial that is posted here http://pinballarcadefans.com/archive/in ... -7913.html

Code: Select all

This is a how-to for those of us that do not have a Xbox controller. It takes some work but it works...

First you need to download 2 files.
1) MotionJoy drivers v6.0003 64 bit (http://www.hardcoreware.net/files/MotioninJoy_060003_amd64_signed.zip) (32 bit (http://www.hardcoreware.net/files/MotioninJoy_060003_x86_signed.zip))

2) Local Driver Files (http://www.hardcoreware.net/files/motionjoy.local.0.6.0003a.Full.zip)

1) Plug in your PS3 controller
Plug your PS3 controller into your PC with the USB cord.

2) Install the MotioninJoy v6 Program
The next step is to install the MotioninJoy program that is in the first archive you downloaded. This doesn’t install drivers, but rather the app that allows you to manage your PS3 controller and drivers. Don’t run it yet!

3) Extract the Local Files to the Install Location
Before running the program you just installed, you must first extract the local files that are in the second archive. Extract them to the main install directory (default Program Files\MotioninJoy\ds3\).

4) Run MotioninJoy
Next, you can run MotioninJoy. Go to the “Local” section, selected from the top menu:
http://1-ps.googleusercontent.com/h/www.hardcoreware.net/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/580x464xps3-controller-windows-motionjoy-screen-local-580x464.png.pagespeed.ic.djDzBDCkPl.png

5) Install the Windows PS3 Controller Drivers
Next you need to install the Windows drivers for the PS3 controller. Select “Install” in the second menu bar. This is what the Install screen looks like before the drivers are installed:
http://www.hardcoreware.net/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/ps3-controller-windows-motionjoy-load-driver-580x468.png

Select the controller, then click “Load Driver”. The program will then install signed 64 bit drivers for you. It will look like this if it ran correctly:

http://1-ps.googleusercontent.com/h/www.hardcoreware.net/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/580x465xps3-controller-windows-motionjoy-driver-loaded-580x465.png.pagespeed.ic.joa7K01ETP.png

At this point, the controller is responsive, and works perfectly as a standard gamepad. However, there is one more step you might need to take in order to have your PS3 controller play in as many Windows games as possible.

6) Enable XBOX 360 Mode
To allow your PS3 controller to work in Windows games that only look for XBOX 360 drivers, you need to enable XBOX 360 mode. This option is found in the main MotioninJoy screen, in Local mode: Go into Options and enable this.
http://i60.tinypic.com/2h350et.jpg

And you’re done! You can test the vibration settings and other things.

So i'm really new to this Madden 08 community and I've just started playing the game with a Logitech precision controller and it worked pretty well (despite not having dual analog sticks). However kicking is all sorts of mess up without those analog sticks so I tried my other controllers that I have such as a ps2 to usb controller converter (I use this with my PS3 to have a PS2 controller on the system) and a Mad Catz xbox 360 controller. Both controllers have the button placement all backwards in the game. Is there anyway to change this or download a better driver for the controllers?

Try to see if Pinnacle Game Profiler is MAC compatible, free trial at the Pinnacle website, program costs like 20 bucks.Another alternative may be Xpadder which is 10 bucks at the xpadder site. Both of those have mappable controls.
