"De-Warp" Uniform Thigh

Postby sarcasticface » Fri Jun 08, 2018 12:42 pm

1312qohelet, I may need your help on this. Does anyone know how to "de-warp" a uniform thigh? I've tried everything, but none of it seems to work. Here's a picture and the .PSD:

I could never figure it out. The original developers didn't even know (or didn't care), because this anomaly is present on vanilla uniforms. Funny thing, if you select a Knee Brace it completely corrects itself.

One little trick I learned, is to add an extra line of color to the rear side...just 1 or 2 pixels width.
Something like this:

It actually does improve it visually in-game....only a little, but still better. How high you go on the pants is up to you. Just play with it.

I think cyclone2426 showed me that tip. He's a freaking surgeon with photoshop.

It's basically "pulling" in the outer edge almost like a snagged piece of fabric, yet at the same time still overlaying the actual outer edge on top of that. Probably like Q said to compensate for the brace, but makes it look bad when there is no brace.

I never noticed it..so why worry about it.. I also could be, since it is toward the back of the knee the gathering of the elastic.

We worry about it because we work hard on our uniforms...we want them to be as accurate as possible, right down to the smallest details. There are areas however, areas where compromise is necessary. It sucks, but you do what you gotta do.

Madden 05 3D model does not have that flaw. Madden 06 - 08 do.

Madden 05 is such a good game...that and '06 has the best franchise mode ever. That year was awesome for NFL video gamers. I had Madden '05 as well as 2k5 and loved them both. 2k5 had an amazing franchise mode, also.
