Re: Historic Roster Project
Looks good! Do you want my 1999 rams team? You're going to have to rip the team off the roster.

Re: Historic Roster Project
I have been attempting for a while to use flyingfinns NFL2khistory data to build rosters for a while now but couldn't ever get the information in the proper format to use it for madden.........but I have finally been able to convert it over. Flyingfinn created every team from every season 1960 to 2006. They are not perfect by any means but the info would be a heck of a head start. I am hoping to post up the1998 season in a short time.

Re: Historic Roster Project
I am sorry that I have kind of pulled away from the main project here but by converting flyingfinn data over we can have every team from every season available. I am able to convert the following things from the data.........main attributes speed, agility, tackle, throw acc/power,etc. And also name, skin color, equipment, college, and much more.
So far on the 98 roster I have all 30 teams, two expansion teams (browns and Texans), and 600 plus potential free agents on the roster and rated. I am now working on skin, college, and equipment.
What I can't get from the data is years pro and contracts so someone will have to do this after everything else is done.

I've got 1995-1997 done.
I need to tweak some FA's before posting them though. I've found two dozen or so players I missed from the 1992-1994 Draft Classes as I fumbled around with new ways to build these rosters over time.
.. I also have .csv's from 1999-2001, but they are the Madden Defaults, so obviously, they would need ALOT of work.

The historic teams are one of the biggest reasons '04 and '08 trump most of the new Maddens.
My questions at this point are:
1. What's the best method and tool for creating rosters? What about editing the players on a roster?
2. Is there anyway to assign a playbook to a team? If not, then is there a way to fix Madden's inability to allow custom playbooks for AI-only games?
3. Is there a certain way to fix the AI's habit of stupidity with a lot of custom playbooks? (As in staying in the I-Form the whole game.)
4. Is it even remotely feasible to attempt to recreate and rate pre-war NFL teams, considering the vastly different physical standards and two-way players?
This looks like a massive project! Where might I find the finished result?

No one has posted anything in this thread in 10 years.
Re: Historic Roster Project
I saw that, it's too bad. I'm guessing this was never finished then? I thought he might have had a different thread with the rosters on it. Oh well.

How about the 1970-1972 LA Rams team

There is a 1970 roster here. It's called a 1971 roster, but it's actually 1970. You could export the Rams from this roster.
viewtopic.php?f=12&t=16968
Here's a 1971 draft class.
viewtopic.php?f=83&t=21258&start=10#p133514
Here's a 1972 draft class.
viewtopic.php?f=83&t=21258&start=10#p127964
You can get new Rams players who weren't in the league in 1970 from those classes. Though they're probably not all there. Some of the rest could be in the 1976 roster.
