A possible AFL Legacy Mod?

Postby devilace2016 » Thu Jan 12, 2017 10:28 am

I am not a modder, but I am a fan of the old American Football League. So here's my mod idea. I wanted to see the old American Football League re-vamped in Madden 08, with an AFL Legacy Mod.

Name Changes:

New York Jets would be Titans of New York or New York Jets.
New England Patriots would be the Boston Patriots.
Tennessee Titans would be the Houston Oilers.
Kansas City Chiefs would be the Dallas Texans.
Denver Broncos would be the Denver Broncos.
San Diego Chargers would be the Los Angeles Chargers.
Buffalo Bills would be the Buffalo Bills.
Oakland Raiders to be the old Oakland Raiders.
Miami Dolphins would be Miami Dolphins.
Cincinnati Bengals would be Cincinnati Bengals.

All Officials would wear AFL Official Uniforms

Referee would have red-orange hat with AFL officials logo.
Other officials would wear white hats with AFL Officials logo.
Stripes are Red-Orange and White.
Legacy or original officials numbers.

My AFL Uniform Ideas for each team and each team would have an AFL patch on the jerseys.

New York Jets would be either the old Titans of New York 1960-1962 home and road uniforms or the Super Bowl winning year with the uniforms of the Jets.
New England would wear their 1963 AFL Eastern Division Championship Uniforms.
Tennessee would wear their 1961 AFL Championship Uniforms.
Kansas City would wear their 1962 AFL Championship Uniforms.
Denver would wear their first Bucking Bronco Uniforms from 1963 or 1962.
San Diego would wear their their uniforms from 1960.
Buffalo would wear their AFL Championship Uniforms from 1964 and 1965.
Oakland would wear their uniforms from 1963.
Miami would wear their 1966 uniforms.
Cincinnati would wear their 1968 uniforms.

Use historical stadiums and stadium names for the teams.
Implement modern offenses such as the pistol, spread option, option, one back, and air raid. No pro style offenses as the AFL was about innovation.
The Wildcat formation would be a big thing since the AFL was about innovation.

Use throwback music for the openings.

So, though I am not a modder, this is my fantasy and dream mod.

it's easier than you think. there are some real neat utilities available here to do you own modding.

check this journal out. I believe these are the ref uniforms you are talking about

If you're referring to the ones that are seen in the screenshots, then no, those aren't the ones I am talking about.

And I don't even know the first thing about modding to begin with. I mean, this is just a dream I have. And I want modders who know what they are doing to make this dream a reality.

When one doesn't know a thing about modding, one should experiment. A good place to start is by downloading MadMod X and fooling around with all the different editors and utilities it offers. And make sure you don't just use the ones shown in the program. If you look at the file folder for MadMod X, there's even more than the program shows.

True. I mean, I just don't have the concentration. And plus, Revan, it's just a dream. All because I don't mod or don't know how to mod, doesn't mean that I can share an idea.

Why wait? Start today! Look for NZA's Madden Editor 1.3

viewtopic.php?f=10&t=18332

With that you can change the names of the teams and cities, stadium, edit everything about the players, change the default uniforms with the throwbacks that are already in the game. You cannot change the ref's uniforms with this, though.

Or, you can keep on dreaming my friend. :)

Yeah, a lot of the stuff I found doesn't work with Windows 10 when it comes to the utilities needed to mod. Even in compatibility mod, half of the stuff doesn't work. So that's why I can't do it.
