The files don't look compressed after you extract them out. I attached the first file. It has a proper "DB" header along with all the database column headings followed by conference names, team names, stadiums, coaches, etc

Well, I've been messing around with a few different games lately but I did try something that we all probably already know of which is the change the default game rosters to the current day ones. This works!
I updated File 0005 in the templates.dat file and it loads up great in NCAA Football 06 for PS2. See video:

The file's attached if you want to look at it or put it in yourself. I believe 0006 is FCS and 0007 is one of the other rosters, maybe historical teams within Template.dat. The "template" for dynasty mode is either 0001 or 0002 but its not loaded with anything in it, which is why I believe it may be found in the League.Dat file but I need to figure out how to load it in a db editor or learn how to make a modified version to read it because the file structure looks similar but not exactly the same.
The video also shows adding the Uniforms.dat file from 11 to 06 doesn't load when starting a game, but does load in equipment screen, as we already knew. I tried to import the Team Uniforms and Uniforms db's into streameddata.db but it obviously didn't work either.

I've been working on ways to import uniforms from 11 to 06. I was able to actually get the game to load in the emulator but not on the actual console, though uniform texture IN-GAME was messed up. In the console, it hangs loading a match.
I created a spreadsheet attached. It has the file sizes of every uniform file within Uniform.Dat and compares between the two games. I also extracted the helmet data from streameddata.db and assigned the helmet number to the file number, granted this is the assumption that the file numbers match in that same way. The number of helmet numbers assigned though, match the number of files that are helmets within the DAT file. 811 helmets (+ some at the very end) in 06 and 818 in 11 (for newer teams?).
I tried a quick and dirty import of some of the files and kept the decompressed size the same but again it crashes during loading in the game. I didn't have time to look into putting 0's in the dat file to match the original filesize though.

Just checking in to see if anyone's gotten any new progress.
I've been fooling around with various aspects of the game outside of uniforms lately. I rekindled interest in conference realignment lately and finished a working realignment dynasty save: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQkWopG ... e=youtu.be
The only big issue is that the scheduling system doesnt seem to take account of the new realignment structure. I'm trying to determine how this is generated. I'll try this same code on PS2 version as well but I'm fairly confident it'll transfer over. It would require copy and pasting in a hex editor though.

Just a quick update: I am going to re-write a portion of the porting tool as it was pointed out to me that awareness and strength ratings were low. I figured out why and have to fix the issue in the porting tool. The way the game calculates these attributes is different than how they do it for the rest of the ratings.
for strength/awareness, it's not so simple. the value follows a trend but it's not as simple and will probably require a lookup table in the porting.
Update: This actually is looking like it affects every skill attribute. I already updated the porting tool last night but I'm having issues with the game taking the changes. Not every value is being "accepted" by the game. For example, I want a player to have a 74 rating, but in the game its showing 65 or 40. Not sure why...

I know this is an old thread, but given minotauri's awesome work to update ps2 and psp ncaa games I wanted to point out that ppsspp now supports texture replacement - thoughts?

It would be great if 2 player or Ad-Hoc mode (2 players, 2 emulators on 1 PC) was working for NCAA in PPSSPP. But there has been 2 new versions of the emulator released since I last tried, so maybe it might work now? This way of playing an Ad-Hoc match worked for quite a few games at the time except Madden and NCAA. Hopefully that's changed.

So I know that this topic has fallen by the wayside, but I have had some good results by texture extracting and replacing with the dolphin emulator and NCAA 05. The process is very simple and not very time consuming. Here are a couple of examples of what I have put together.
I know everyone loves NCAA 06, but NCAA 05 is pretty good too, and I certainly appreciate the uni editing!

how did you edit textures? were they msh format?
