How to Create a VP6 File

Step 1. Install the VP6 codec. (...\vp6_vfw_codec\vp6_vfw_codec.exe)
Step 2. Create an .AVI video with your favorite movie editor using these settings:
Display size: 320x240
Audio: 44100 Hz, 16 bits, Mono
Step3. Run VirtualDub.exe (...\VirtualDub-1.9.11\VirtualDub.exe)
Press CTRL-O.
Double click on your .AVI movie.
Press CTRL-P
Select VP60 Simple Profile codec.
Press F7 (Save as AVI) Name this new file whatever name you want.
Click on "File"
Scroll down and select "Save WAV..." and name the wav file.
Close VirtualDub.exe
Step 4.Goto folder "...\SoundExchange30101_GUI" and run "GUI.exe"
Click on the input "Browse" button.
Select the audio wav file. (will be saved with a ".dat" extension
Click on the "Create" button.
Close "GUI.exe"
Step 5.Goto folder "...\EA_Conv_06i\VP6_Builder" and run "VP6Converter005.exe"
Click on the input video file "Browse" button and select the the file you created with virtualdub.
Check the "Audio" box.
Click on the input audio file "Browse" button and select the the file you created with ...\SoundExchange30101_GUI.
Click on the "GO!" button.
A new .VP6 file will be created with the same name as the .AVI file.
Close "VP6Converter005.exe"
Now using DFR4.exe that is in the MadMod-X\Tools package:
open MOVIEDAT.dat file and replace the first file with your newly created .VP6 file.
*edit Follow these instruction, the instruction on the txt file are not updated.

is there any way to skip the intro as it is very long

I don't believe you can but you may want to put a zero length file in it's place to completely bypass the movie intro.

friend you know because the videos are pixeleadosI was investigating and believe that it is the VP6 codec. is there any way out not bad resolution

When you create your .AVI use uncompressed method. the quality of the video will be high and when you compress it with the VP6 codec it will look decent.
Also use a good quality movie when you want to create your .AVI and VP6 video.

I'm using the XV mod. Is there any way to skip altering the video that is already set up, and just quickly replace the audio?

Thanks for this, Madden 06 has 30+ movie clips as apart of it's menu background that I'll be editing. How do i view the files in the movie dat though? I've installed the codec and have VLC but it plays the file as an audio file.
