The rules on Jersey Numbers?
Is there a way to change them? Madden 08 is really out of date when it comes to this. I'd like to have defensive lineman with 50-59, 40-49, and 40-49 for linebackers and tight ends.

Calhoupe made a script for it, but never publicly released it.
And defensive linemen can't wear numbers in the 40's. 50-79 and 90-99.

Re: The rules on Jersey Numbers?
the only way a Defensive Lineman wears a number in the 40's, is a Linebacker playing in that position.

If you're curious about the full rules, it's as follows:
QB - 1-19
RB - 20-49, (preseason; only if none allowed available) 1-9
WR - 10-19, 80-89, (preseason; only if none allowed available) 1-9
TE - 40-49, 80-89
T/G - 60-79
C - 50-79
DL - 50-79, 90-99
LB - 40-59, 90-99
DB - 20-49, (preseason; only if none allowed available) 1-9
K/P - 1-19
LS - Not really any limit, but usually 40-59 or 90-99. Can also often be seen as 60-69, and less commonly 70-79. Often based on the "traditional" position of the player. For instance, Cowboys LS L. P. Ladouceur played DE in college, as well as LS, so he wears #91. Meanwhile, a guy like Jon Condo has more of the size of a LB, and wears #59.

Watch, there's going to be a desperate QB like Jeff Hostetler who switches to LS to get playing time.

Vic Beasely wears 44 and he plays defensive end ... he had 44 when he was a leo defensive end before he became a linebacker

Vic Beasley is officially listed as a linebacker. He just occasionally drops down and plays with a hand in the dirt. And college pretty much has no number rules, other than 50-79 and 90-99 being ineligible.

And I said, in the NFL, he has ALWAYS been a linebacker. He was an end in college, and they have no jersey number rules.
