I'll probably do it again anyway
The thing about the shoes, is the palettes in question can be changed, unlike the skins, unless we find them somehow..
I was wondering earlier today if anyone has ever extracted all the textures in PLADATA, opened each one, set color to RGB, then converted the images (one by one) to indexed color using a 256 color gif palette or 217 web palette? I know doing that for one texture would screw up the palette sharing, but what if every palette were uniform?
We could still edit textures after that too; just change color mode to RGB, edit to your heart's desire, then re-index it when you finish and convert it back to the palette.
The only obstacle I can think of is team colors screwing up textures, but there is a way around it which would be removing the 64 team colors from the palette (if they're even in the web or gif palette, many/most of them wouldn't be) and/or replacing them with a very similar but different color value.
