Here is a Photoshop solution.. ( again using one of your numbers ). Use the "Teardrop" tool at 100% to create more blending colors on those jagged edges...ended up with about 12-15 different blending shades.
Numbers then have no "jaggies"...
In light...
Or shade...

updated post above your last post:
Yup .... looks fantastic ...... how are ya gonna get that to morph into its counterpart ..... can you force the palette colors for that to get them in a precise order?
Might be possible ...... may have to do what you did earlier by using two rows of blenders between the raw colors or possibly three rows ..... If there are 4 raw colors, then you could use four rows ...... interesting ..... just might work.
Also your example is on a mesh jersey ... the mesh background is going to hide jaggies to a certain degree.

On my end of things, after all of this time, I can officially declare the Madden number mystery solved.
Below example has alpha blended numbers .... not perfect, but neither was anything that EA did either. In any event it is a reproduction of what they gave us.

"If you can get MUER to have an option of alpha blending "
I believe Photoshop can handle all the color blending we need...once we learn more about it. I will try my "Teardrop" technique on a thumstyx uni (he gave me permission to use one with my HD UNIFORM.uni) and see if it works on all number sizes.
Great Job NICK!...It looks like all of your hard work has been successful

Re: MORPHING AND ALPHA BLENDING NUMBERS
Sly, did the blending technique and the jaggies are worse in palette blending ...... I think it has alot to do with how dark or light the jersey in the background is and whether or not the white colors in the palette are close to that shade of the jersey ..... which means it may be a hit and miss type of thing for uniform modders. I may be having trouble getting the results you got because I have been using a Nike jersey that is a modified version of elguapo's template. I like a whiter jersey with not as much gray shading in it, so that may be my problem. My starting white color in the palette is 248 248 248 rgb to better blend with the grey shading on the white jersey. Also I am using the default size of 64 x 128, so that is probably an issue also. I got a little bit better result just using the default blur setting without doing any of the options and using 22 colors to blend between every two raw colors rather than 14. Definitely noticed a difference doing them with alpha blending with the default blur option, 24 colors in the palette for a single colored number and 24 alpha settings.
I may just leave the palette blending part of the tutorial alone and just update the alpha blending part ...... I really wanted all of the steps to fit both techniques ...... but right now it does not appear that I can do that.

... You just figured this out?
I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV. But I, and 4/5 trained apes, prescribe lichtental's extremely useful USEFUL LINKS thread.

Sorry if this caused any problems for anyone.

I didn't label this post correctly .... it is a tutorial on how to mod the numbers ..... there is nothing to download from this thread. There are number templates available for download somewhere on this site and good info about modding at this link.
