Transfering portraits from one portrait pack to another

Are there any instructions on how to copy or move a portrait from one portrait pack to another? (I'm currently running a franchise based off of the FFXI mod, but I would like to be able to move Colt Brennan's portrait from another roster's .dat to the FFXI's .dat.) What programs will I need?

You should be able to do this with the DFR. Locate Brennan's portrait ID from the file you wish to pull it from. For example purposes we'll say it's portrait ID #100. Open the portrait file that has this portrait in it using the DFR. Extract file #102 (there is a difference of 2 with the portrait ID and the file #s). Open the new portrait pack, find the portrait location (example portrait ID 948) replace file 950 (again the +2) with the extracted file #102 within that .dat file you are updating.
