Plot twist: it's acc a shade of brown that's used, not black after all! :D

(See Q4.7 in my TrueTurf thread)

EDIT: the really cool part tho is I'm now acc starting to surpass my expectations for this field, which is what I used to enjoy the most out of modding! :D Been a while for sure. But I'm basically taking what is a kinda ugly looking field tbh, and "beautifying" it.

Happy ;)

If you want another project after your College All Star field, I don't think the Commanders have a updated field yet.

Well that's certainly a good suggestion, as it's something that would get a decent amount of actual game usage! Unfortunately, the field itself doesn't spark my interest as it's quite plain. Sorry! :( Tbh, it would acc be quite an easy one for newbies to make themselves using my TrueTurf template for anyone hasn't used it before. (Washington fans: your team needs YOU! ;) )

I'm still working on this Senior Bowl field and finding ways to continually improve it, and I'm really enjoying that rn. Might be happy with it in about a week, and will upload it then. After that, I'd still like to finish my TAMC Lions field and release it, cuz it's just sooo good to play on! :D But at that point, I'll likely retreat into the shadows again, and pursue other hobbies. (UNLESS peeps can tempt me with a really weird college or high-school field before then! )

EDIT: tip for Washington endzone; quick bit of line-drawing in Paint.NET shows that the wordmark is 2/3 width of endzone itself. On my TrueTurf template, the endzone is 1441 pixels wide, so the wordmark would be 1441 x .66666 = 961 pixels wide.

Dayum this lookin good... :D

ABOVE: darker colored turf this time (and with better turf clouding), plus now with BROWN clouding throughout endzone lettering.

Both endzones are now complete to my satisfaction. Midfield has orange clouding done, but I still want to experiment with clouding in the yellow & brown parts, and I also want to re-do the "Dollar General". Neither should take too long.

Making absolutely everything as sharp as possible in this one, and I can promise it's much better to play on than it looks on tv. :D I honestly don't care if no-one ever plays on it tbh; I've just really enjoyed trying my hardest to make an ugly-looking field look pretty!

Actually I'd be quite interested in doing a field that has some "3D painted logos" like you see in rugby:

So basically all of that is PAINTED on at a weird angle so it looks correct from the tv camera's pov. But if you stood on it, it would appear all stretched and out-of-proportion.

Anyone know of any college football fields that have anything like this? Could be quite challenging to recreate!  :D

(I know sometimes extra 3D logos can be green-screened in to the live broadcast but that's not what I'm talking about here)

Hey,

Not sure if anyone is following this but here's where I'm at:

Everything is done and looks sharp as nails, but I'm still picking away at tiny details that realistically no-one is ever gonna notice! :D

But that's what I love the most so I still want to tweak the field numbers a bit, and also move a handful of pixels in the midfield logo to get the two halves to match up better. I've also discovered that I still have my "NCAA 17 FieldBuilder" mod installed as my default, so I've been playing on the Senior Bowl field with some college teams AND with Calhoupe's wide-hash script and it is AWESOME! I'd forgotten how much better this game is when you have a wide side of the field and a narrow side. Just awesome. :D

Quick question tho (cos I've forgotten so much about modding!): I'm using the Fawcett/HOF stadium here which by default has grass, but the Senior Bowl surface I'm overlaying is TexMod is turf. Am I right in thinking that there's something that should also be changed in the roster that sets the surface to turf since grass deteriorates during a game?? Or am I imagining that?
