I posted a somewhat general overview of what the app would ideally be.... I think we need to come up with some sort of organized outline of how we're going to accomplish this, who can work on what, etc.

If your going to make a whole new draft engine you could include trading players as well. That's the one thing that gets me about AMP's draft.....

Yeah, we should be able to do that.... if we're coming up with the logic to do it during other parts of the season, should be able to happen with regard to the draft as well.

Another idea which I budgeted for in the attributes, but didn't do programming on yet: each player having a cashflow, or a net worth. Like, his salary plus some endorsements, minus his spending.... if he has a lavish lifestyle or a big family, he might spend more and will be "in the red"....and at contract time, it will affect his needs. If anyone has more thoughts or ideas about this, could be interesting to add in.

Trading draft picks needs some serious work... I know y'all have been talking about it for a while but check this out!

That was an awful trade. Giving up the number one pick, in effect the best player in the draft, for the 14th and a pathetic 3rd rounder? I almost forgot how awful their logic was.

Wow. That's bad.

Another anomaly in my league: while going through preseason a couple seasons ago, I was looking through the available free agents and picked up a rookie halfback named Sean Wright. He had been drafted 33rd overall and then released to the free agent pool. He won the starting job from the incumbent back, and in his second season was the MVP of the title game.

The draft was done in Maddenamp. I'm thinking that the AI there accurately realized that the team needed a back with that pick, but the in-game AI decided that they had too few punters and needed to clear some roster space.
