Looking for some portable Madden and planning to emulate via PPSSPP. What's better on PSP, 08 or 12?

If you can run Madden 12 smoothly on PPSSPP you could probably install a Linux mobile distro and use WINE to play Madden 08 on the lowest settings. And there are plenty of micro controllers that you could use that hold the phone/tablet while you play.

I don't think I can run a Linux distro on my Shield K1 tablet. And I've already got the controller setup covered.

But Madden 08 PC is only compatible with a select few controllers, and my bluetooth one for my tablet doesn't work, at least it doesn't for GameStream. I'd love 08 PC portable. Actually my white whale is to be able to emulate PS2 portably and play ESPN NFL 2k5 on the go, but Madden 08 is the more likely scenario in the near future.

That's really impressive, but I think I'll pass on blowing up my tablet to do this. I've flashed custom images and there's likely to be more broken than working, even if Linux does run. On a side note, Madden 12 is solid in PPSSPP. The fields and play calling are better in 08 IMO, but the overall animation smoothness and gameplay is better in 12.

Looked into it but I'll pass. The Play store one you linked isn't well rated. There's Linux4Tegra which looks like a better option, but performance is still meh from the look of it. Youtube videos stutter and GlxGears score is somewhere between 500 and 1000 (really low, and lower than it should be for the GPU. We're talking Radeon HD 4600/4650 performance levels). I'd rather keep my performance and just keep emulating my retro games on it.

Plus, performance-wise, it *might* play Madden 08, but probably wouldn't work with my controller, and definitely wouldn't do PCSX2 (x86 intel only), and even if PCSX2 ran on it, the performance would be abysmal.


Still a cool idea though, and something I'll probably toy with at whatever point I intend on replacing the tablet.
