Serious: Help My Mom and I Find a New Home

Postby RevanFan » Tue Nov 12, 2024 9:48 pm

Hey FootballIdiot. I'm sorry I haven't been around much recently. Life has been very busy and has changed a lot lately. Well... I'm posting here because one of those changes is very sudden and very stressful. My mom and I were told a few weeks ago, that after 29 years of being loyal tenants, we're being kicked out of our apartment. They said they wanted us gone in 30 days, but we're pretty sure that's illegal, and we told them we need 90 days to find somewhere to live. Right now we're considering all options, but right now buying a mobile home seems to be the most likely outcome for us. We can't afford a full house (they're 350K MINIMUM for small ones in my area), and no matter what we'll need help with a down payment as well as our newly increased monthly bills. To that end, I have applied for several new jobs in the last week, and I started doing gig work online from home as well.

Due to this crap being piled on us when we weren't prepared for it, my mom decided to start a GoFundMe to try to help raise money for that down payment, as well as any potential other expenses like lawyer fees, boxes, a moving truck, etc. I normally wouldn't bring something like this to this forum, but I figured I have been here for 16 years, and some of you may be willing to help. Literally anything can help us, be it monetary or even just sharing it the GoFundMe with people you know. My mom and I are extremely stressed and scared, and we could really use any help you'd be willing to offer. We need to find a home for us and our three kitties, and we don't have much time to do it.

To everyone who reads this, thank you for your time, and thank you for any help you can provide, even if it's just sharing it with people you know. Also before anyone asks, yes this is really me, no I haven't been hacked. I'll confirm by saying I'm still a Cowboys fan, and yes we absolutely suck this year.

That is so unfortunate, sad to hear the bad news. Consider moving out of New York where everything is so expensive to a state that has more affordable everything.

Wish you and your family good luck.

Our only options are New York and Connecticut. My mom has a good job that pays fairly well and which she loves, and that is only in Connecticut. So we have to live within an hour of it.

That sucks you have to move, especially in times like this where things are pricing us out.

Sad to read this news. I am sure many will help you. If it wont be enough, consider moving out of the state.
