Playing with historic teams?

Is there something equivalent to the classics mods that have been made for MVP 2005? If not, if there are no complete "1970 mod" etc, was there a game out of the box that offered authentic rosters of historical teams? I don't mean APF2K with individual players, but maybe some mode where you could go through choosing classic teams to play with? Is 2K5 the only one or does anyone know of others.

Thanks for the reply. Ok, but so it's only Madden 08 then? There aren't really any other games that have offered something like this over the years?

Ok, but more than mods, I was asking if anyone knew of modes (not mods) in games where classic teams are offered. In the way NHL2K did or NFL 2K5, etc.
