New York Yankees: Quest for 28 (Do Over)

Postby RevanFan » Mon Jul 09, 2012 12:03 pm

Well, let's try this again. I did a Yankees journal before, but I lost interest pretty quickly. This time, I am going to do it differently. I am going to start in Spring Training, like before, but I will not use the same lineups as in real life, nor will I have the same roster as real life 2012 Spring Training. I will instead make my own roster, with about 25-30 non-roster players, picking out of a Yankee organization I currently have filled (not all of the minor league players are there, but a good amount are.) I am using MLB 2k11, and the Yankees are the only updated team, so don't expect to hear much about the other teams.

If I don't post for a while, someone who is following this should send me a PM yelling at me to play another game. It is harder for me to continue baseball franchises than football ones, so I need the support.

Tatum Injured

Catcher Craig Tatum, a non-roster invitee, suffered a torn calf muscle and will miss 6-8 weeks. This injury is a killer to a player fighting hard for one of a few roster spots on a loaded Yankee roster. He is one of eight catchers currently on the Yankees roster. He will be sent to Tampa, where he will begin rehab.

I'll be reading.
In your roster, you should organize your pitchers. Starting Pitchers, Long Relievers, and Bullpen/Relieving Pitchers. It would be nice and a little less confusing.
Since I actually know most of these players, I could predict your eventual 25-man roster. It would be much easier than predicting the 53-man roster in football.

Those positions are not set during Spring Training. After Spring Training, I will sort it. It will be starters, bullpen, and closer.
