Glory to the Coyotes: The NAFA

Postby TheMajorSupreme » Sat Nov 30, 2013 11:36 pm

Hello all, and welcome to my first non-madden journal, featuring the North American Football Asscociation using the Professional Football Simulator by BarcodeGames (http://www.barcodegames.com/). I love this game, and this is perfect for those who truly love managing teams through multiple years. The AI when it comes to drafting, free agent signings and other GM tasks, is pretty much amazing and the depth in this game is great. Ton of replay value and tons of fun. So, I thought I'd bring the fun to one of my favorite places :D. So, without further ado, I will be taking control of the New York Coyotes in the 2015 season of the NAFA (a custom league of mine).

NORTH AMERICAN FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION

American-Canadian football league formed in 2009 by current commissioner Weston "Wes" Gormley. Much like the NFL, the NAFA features a preseason, practice squads, play-offs and shares many of the same rules. On the contrary, the NAFA only has 18 teams, that play within a 16 game schedule but with no bye weeks (there is one week every season that no team plays, usually before or after week 8.) The NAFA is recently ending it's 2014 season with Salem Captains winning the "Wes Gormley Bowl" and QB David Tibbetts winning the Championship MVP award. Going into the 2014 season, most teams underwent name and city changes to amass more popularity to the league. In a recent Facebook poll, the NAFA ranks third in popularity behind the CFL and the NFL, and 5th behind the CFL, MLB, NBA, and NFL.

Ehhh this is a slipper slope. It is really a guess and check. I love the ratings system in this sim because it really distinguishes the average players from the superstars. I flow like this: 40= a 60 ovr in Madden. 50-60=70 ovr. 70=80 ovr. 80=90 ovr. If some one is in the 90s, they are a 99. There is a really complicated way to translate the sims ratings to Madden that I am still working through. I'd be happy to go into more detail at a later date, though.
