The Vikings got back Justin Jefferson and 3 2021 draft picks (after other trades) for Diggs, so they at least got their value's worth out of him. Diggs' target share has gone up to 11 per game with the Bills, after being just 6.3 per game with the Vikings in 2019. They weren't going to get him the ball close to as much as Buffalo has wanted to. Meanwhile, Jefferson is tearing things up and he's barely averaging 7 targets a game.
The real issue with the Vikings' offense is the focus on running the ball so much despite having a $33M QB and 2 really good WRs...
