Forte now a Jet

Postby 1312qohelet » Thu Mar 10, 2016 11:05 am

Matt Forte to Jets.

This bothers me. I will never understand the mind-set of NFL front-office douche-bags.

Brandon Marshall goes to NYJ, has arguably, the best season of his career, and they fought for a playoff spot 'til the very end.

Is Forte going to have the best season of his career in '16?
Not likely....but the Jets are headed in the right direction and building a winning roster with 2 key offensive players that the Bears sent away.

It would make more sense if the Bears had viable replacements. Didn't have a replacement for Marshall, still don't...remains to be seen what Kevin White will be.
They think Jeremy Langford can fill Forte's shoes? No way....he could have a solid career, but as of now, he's a definite step back.

I really miss the good ol' days when a star player spent their entire career with one team. Free-Agency plays a big role in that. It does still happen on occasion, but I would like if it was more often

GO JETS....2016 baby

Was hoping he'd land in Green Bay.

Ted was too cheap apparently, per usual.

Congrats to Jets fans. I think this guy has some tread left on the tires.

... looks like they landed Khiry Robinson also.

MAN, you guys got alot of name backs.

I get that it is tough when you lose a player from your team that is one of your favorites. But the RB position is a young man's spot. I remember when MJD left the Jaguars, I didn't like it, but the guy was 30+ years old and I think his few seasons in Oakland showed that he was well past his prime. While he may have a good season in NY, I wouldn't be surprised if Forte follows suit and fades like MJD.

Here's an interesting article on RBs over 30: http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/post/ ... -30-mmmkay

The Jets as of now haven't resign Fitzpatrick. Put Geno at QB=Jets under 500.
Not to mention how much more difficult their schedule gets from last years'.
So the Giants traded Beckham....

The Jets now have Forte, Bilal Powell, and Khiry Robinson in the backfield. Not bad - they got all 3 for about $25M rather than matching Ivory's ridiculous deal of $32.5M over 5 years.
