Football is a very dangerous sport. Maybe he thought, "I've played a while, I've won Super Bowls, I've made a ton of money... I'm good."

Re: Goodbye to a Legend
I will say that Gronk was a extremely good TE.. but he is not in the class of a Tony Gonzales, Shannon Sharpe, John Mackey or a Mike Ditka those guys were legends. I give Gronk, that he was a TE that you had to game plan for. He is a top 15 TE of all time.

Yeah. I would just do,"I signed the contract, I get the signing bonus...I’m good. I’ll retire now."

Again... you're forgetting someone. Someone I'd put higher than Ditka, Mackey, and possibly even Sharpe. Someone who just came out of retirement.

Re: Goodbye to a Legend
Let's not put anyone above John Mackey, actually. Wasn't he really "the first Tight End legend "?
But Gronkowski had a great career, and you know he is heading for the hall of fame.
