But I just don't think he killed himself. Who would shoot themselves in the chest to try to kill themselves? It just doesn't add up to me.
I don't want to make assumptions about why he might have or might not, but in February, former Bear, Dave Duerson shot himself in the chest because he wanted to donate his brain to research about CTE.
Ed Meadows also died in 1974 from self-inflicted gunshot wounds to the chest.

NFL players are known to be shot in the head because of concussions. It's mostly by themselves. This isn't the first an NFL player has been shot in the head by themselves or someone else.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Seau also donated his brain for concussion research.
It's a shame. He was one of the best LBs I've seen play.

Very saddened to know about this, how in the world can a player of his caliber end like this? It's a shame, may he rest in peace.

This seems completely unlike him. One person they had on NFL Network said just a month ago he was the happiest guy out there. When I first saw this, my jaw just dropped. Today was a sad day for football, a sad day for the cities of Miami, Boston, and San Diego, and especially a sad day for his family.

Do you know what's the one of the sad thing all about this? These type of players, like him, you'll never appear again. The new generation that have watched highlights on youtube, think they are the gangstas now, it's not just on football. Here in Brazil the same happens since 2001 with soccer, you can count with your fingers the number of really tough leaders out there. Players like him, Dawkins, Ray Lewis, unluckily aren't showing at same number that "Primetime ones" do; players that would easily make you follow 'em until hell, pick up the devil's head and give to God.
I play, or try haha, at semi-pro Football league here, on a 50 man roster, no more than 10 you can say "well, that's a football player".
