My apologies, then- you don't know how tired I am of hearing OMG GUDDEL SUX! It's just downright stupid when you look at the commissioners of the other Big Four sports. Gary Bettman is just as bad, btw: 2004 NHL lockout.

The NBA doesn't even care, that's the problem. It's blocked a couple of Lakers deals, but it doesn't care a damn thing about parity. It would rather the Lakers snatch up all the talent it can so it can be the Sixties' Celtics. It doesn't care that Clay Bennett can swoop in and steal an iconic franchise away from its town. It doesn't care about the towns its teams go to: Stern would rather local governments overtax their residents to pay for the costs of a new stadium than place the majority of the onus on the multi-millionaire owners.

So that you can see the place you came from with new eyes and extra colors.
And the people there see you differently, too."

Hey, no problem. Like I said, I have and still hope to be in the NBA, but if the league went under, I wouldn't miss it at all. Now the NFL, I would miss that.

EDIT
I just notice that truetothegame13 brought this topic back up to the actives. I thought this was new news!
Retired from the Fourm. I check back in once a month, sorry in advance for late replies.

Agreed... I stopped caring about the NBA a long time ago, sometime around when Magic Johnson retired all too early. Professional basketball, along with the Lakers, stopped being fun to watch and became all about the flash and the glitz during the Nineties. (The NBA and the WWE are a lot alike- wrestling has sucked for a long, long time now as well.) I casually follow the Grizzlies... but their GM is an a-hole who reminds me of Dan Snyder and Memphis thinks that it's better than the rest of Tennessee when it comes to anything, so there ain't really much to care about there.

College basketball is what I really like to watch: any team can win at any time in the tourney. Duke winning doesn't make me quite all that sick either- to keep their basketball relevance, they've turned their football program into an up-and-coming FCS powerhouse.
