Most times, though, it's rare for a mediocre five year veteran to suddenly put a superstar on the trading block by not playing as well as the superstar during a preseason game*.
*Chris Johnson: 2 attempts, 60 yards, 1 TD, 58 long, 30 yard average
*Shonn Greene: 5 attempts, 32 yards, 1 TD, 19 long, 6.4 yard average

No

Johnson may not be as tradeable as you think with his big contract.....
I don't hold either player in very high regard.
Johnson went from stud to *COLASSAL* underachiever despite running behind one of the better lines in the League.
Greene IS a colossal underachiever, but running on last chances can motivate some guys. Don't care if he pans out or not. I tuned in to watch Locker as he is a local fave, and what I saw of Greene was impressive.
I do believe Greene was signed with a purpose. Either to get Johnson going, or to facilitate his exit. From what I saw, Greene did that job in preseason game 1.

Well it looks like Johnson did end up leaving and Shonn Greene staying around. I like Jackie Battle better than Greene though. I wish he could be an every down back. He's a bruiser reminiscent of Eddie George. I really like the way Battle plays the game....Lets hope to a good season for Tennessee this year.
