Joe Flacco was the highest paid player a few months ago, with them missing the playoffs why not consider cutting a huge amount of money on flacco and sign better players to help the team?

Flacco has big money guaranteed. If he's cut, that's a lot of money down the drain for nothing, not to mention the lack of good QBs on the market to replace him.

Yes, they are stuck with him and his contract, unless there is some secret escape clause that more and more NFL contracts seem to have (sometimes guarantee money only becomes guaranteed after a certain date, like was the case with Dumervil's Denver contract). Flacco is a middle of the pack QB who they paid like a super star QB because he won the super bowl.
