As a bears fan, I can tell you, this is nothing new.
The Fox staff didn't really favor him before the 2015 season. But, because of his ridiculous contract and the lack of a viable replacement, he was the best, at the time.
And he did grow in 2015, probably his best season as a bear, statistically.
This year he was flat, then got injured.
Brian Hoyer may finally give them a productive replacement.
Cutler's 7 year contract has a team option after the 3rd season. Meaning they can release him without penalty. That 3rd season is this season.
After the 2014 season, pretty much every bears fan knew/knows that Cutler will be gone after the 2016 season, barring some pro-bowl appearances and a play-off run.
Neither of which happened, so bye, bye Jay.
Although, the bears organization is just dumb enough to pick up that option and keep him around.
I would not put that past them.
