End of an era in Chicago
End of an era in Chicago
Yahoo sports is reporting that The Chicago Bears and Brian Urlacher have parted ways. It's sad to see him go, it'll be even sadder to see him in another uniform. He's been a bit injury prone in recent years, I hope he retires instead of going to another team.

I'd be pretty surprised if he does come back, he is in his mid-30s, and with the stress he's put on his body to be known as one of the best, I think he might hang up his helmet. Then again, this is Urlacher we're talking about, and that dude gives his all every day for sheer love of the game. Either way, it'll be strange to not have #54 holding down the middle of the field in Chicago. Good luck and all the best to Brian whatever he decides to do.

The Bears and Brian Urlacher agreed on a deal: 2-year 11.5 Million. Brian Urlacher said this offer was kinda like a "slap in the face".

No, the Bears offered that deal. Urlacher said no. Both sides have decided to move forward.

The biggest issue I had with them letting him go is how bad our LB situation is. We lost Roach, now Urlacher is gone, so they're putting a lot of pressure on whoever takes up those spots.

I don't know where you got those numbers from. Urlacher was on ESPN's "Mike & Mike in the morning" today and said he was offered a take it or leave it 1 year/$2 Million deal.

The 2 Year was what Urlacher Wanted, the Bears countered with one Year 2 Mil, Urlacher Countered with one Year #.5 Mil, and then they Parted ways.
I'm sure gonna miss him, but I guess it's for the Best.......
Re: End of an era in Chicago
Chicago parting ways with him wasn't the biggest surprise. Urlacher not getting a call from the owner/gms telling him that they won't bring him back is a little stupid. An iconic player on your team, at least show a little respect. I guess the higher ups are afraid of confrontation. Well, I don't want to be the one to tell a bear he's no longer a bear either.
