Well I am not sure how it would look... I have a Blue on Blue in my sig. you can try... But it uses the current helmet..

Nice idea, as a giants fan I think it would be great for NY to change up the helmet and add some "freshness" to their uniform. Maybe even update the logo as well.

Then how come teams like Jacksonville and Oakland still wear dark during day games?

Because they must like not getting to the playoffs often

HAHA... "because they must like not getting to the playoff often" nice! ...Yes also because Oakland is known as the black hole....which explains a lot especially when the visiting team's fans go there and get the crap beat out of them by deranged oaklanders who don't realize its just a stupid game and not a life/death situation. Search youtube/google and you will find this to be true....Now not all raiders fans are that crazy but the local ones in oakland the internet shows are just plain insane.

As this video illustrates:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NPVFMpKcfA

Jacksonville hasn't even come close to sniffing the playoffs the last few years, ever since they got rid of david garrard. Also funny thing is del rio used to coach jacksonville and now is coaching oakland. I don't expect him to last maybe 2 years at most, dude can coach defenses but not a team (then again with manning who needs a "great" defense), another one of those specialist coaches that shouldn't be a head coach because he can't hack it.

As to why they want to wear black....they want to be like their bay area counterparts the Raiders. Commitment to mediocrity (or worse)..fire a good head coach then suck for a couple of years and redo the hire/firing of a coach all over again.

Not necessarily. They can only wear these uniforms twice a year. You would think that they'll probably get at least two primetime night games a year, which answers the question of when they'll wear them.

Did anyone care that the Raiders wear black when they were winning?

Pittsburgh wears black and they've won six Super Bowls.

Carolina, San Diego and Buffalo are among the teams that wear white for the first one or two home games. None of them have ever won the Big One.

Randall12 wrote:If any team wants to learn, Apparently one of the factors why DALLAS wears WHITE all the time is because WHITE does not soak up the Sun's Heat

You might be thinking of Miami. Dallas' reasons are that their former owner, Tex Schramm, wanted fans to see the different colours of opposing teams when they came to visit.

Yes a uniform has no bearing on winning/losing. I just think the gold helmet with red and black threads looks horrible. But that is just my opinion. But even if they changed the red to gold on the uniform part, then they would look like the saints lol. So overall, I think they should have just not made this alternate and donned the regular unis.

GIANTS Should of never changed their 80's style Jerseys.

What they have now is stupid. Solid Blue with Solid Grey Pants? Screams Low Budget High School

They need this back, and along with the player wearing it

Only reason i dont like these uniforms was because the helmet was dark blue and the jersey was just blue feels like they couldnt make up their mind lol. I mean classic isnt bad but its so all over the place. As for the new unis they are based off the 1940s unis

IDK, I do know EAGLES need to ditch their BLACK as well. Or at least use a Black Helmet with it or something.

Wearing black has no effect on Super Bowl tendencies whatsoever. Wearing black did not make JaWalrus Russell a bust. Wearing black did not make Blaine Gabbert any more underwhelming than he already was. Wearing dark blue does not make Tom Brady any less brilliant a QB. The teams the coaches assemble are what decides a team's future, not the color of its uniform.

And if you really want to get picky about temperatures, I doubt teams are going to complain that their uniforms are too dark when they're playing in 20-40 degree weather throughout fall and winter. The Patriots never seem to mind too much, so if they threw away their chances of getting to the playoffs by using dark uniforms, I'd recommend most of the NFL should do the same.

Another thing that comes to mind is the fabric that's used to make the uniforms these days. Everytime a new uniform comes out, Adidas talks about their Climacool technology, Nike with their Dri-Fit, and Under Armour does the same with UA tech. If these companies can manufacture uniforms that are lighter and more moisture repellent than ever, couldn't they also make them less UV radiation absorbent (thus trapping less heat)?

This is assuming that they aren't already good at deflecting UV.
