Player Lock?

The option in game doesn't seem to effect anything and there's no CPU option at the pause screen. I control every player with it on or off even in superstar mode. Did 06 not have the 08 superstar mode camera angle? What does the player lock even do then?

EDIT: It's not working on 08 either?
