When playing Madden 2004, I intermittently get a blurry horizontal band or two across the screen. Interestingly, they do not show up on screenshots or video clips from the game.
This started happening after I had to replace the DVD drive and motherboard on my laptop. I do not get the same problem when playing Madden 2008.
The 2004 game otherwise runs fine, save for this little nuisance when viewing. I played with all the settings, stopped all background programs from running, updated all drivers...and nothing seems to correct the issue.
Anyone have any thoughts?

When you say you messed with all the settings that included using different screen resolution settings within the game?

Yes, screen resolutions, detail settings, Trueform, vertical sync, etc.

I took a video with my phone to see if I could capture the issue. It was still hard to distinguish on the video so I took the screenshot below.
The blurry horizontal line runs just above the player's head where the the yard lines are distorted.
