Try VMware. It's better for gaming anyway. And your motherboard shouldn't have anything blocking virtualization.

Motherboard doesn't "block" virtualization, so much as AMD-V and Intel's VT-x are often disabled by default on the boards. You just have to enable it.

My board doesn't even have a setting for VT-x. At least not one that I saw while digging through my BIOS and my manual.

I got an email back from the AMD forum and they said it was called SMV on the X370 board that I have and to enable that. I have yet to confirm that, but will do so tonight. I would think that you are going to have to get in touch with your MoBo maker stating what to enable. But if you are using MVware it may not be an issue. It would be interesting to see if it aids in the monitor quest because stranger things have happened.

What's the board model?

I have a Gigabyte Z370-HD3P. Virtualization works just fine, but I haven't noticed any settings for virtualization in BIOS.

It's the VT-d setting under "chipset" in your BIOS. Set to enabled (it's probably already on if you're not having issues).

I know in other games you can switch from direct x 9 to direct x 11. Just throw it out there.

This game has no support for DX10 or DX11. Heck, I don't even think it works with OpenGL.

My game was working fine before the update to 1709, sadly wish I didn't do it now. I turned off penalties in my franchise mode for now. As for online play I'm using win 7 on a VM, it runs decent but choppy at times.

Try Windows 8.1. 8.1 has better resource usage than 7. 7 was great, but did have a couple of left over issues from Vista. Mostly just the high resource usage.
