Here's the ISO I use that I got directly from Microsoft's servers. This is version 1703 and it contains both the Home and Pro versions.

i have win 10 fully updated, and i had the same issue. I used the compatibility mode (used xp version) on both mainapp.exe and on calhoupe's scripts. Dozen of penalties and no crashes.

I just woke up to MS doing an update to my machine, when I clearly had windows update turned completely off in admin tools>services. The only thing that I have noticed is that my video stutters a lot now. Even turned up my penalties to see if it would cause any crashes and it would seem that nothing happens. I'm not sure what to do about the shuttering video though. Going to see if there is an update to the GPU software first. This is really irritating since I had updates turned off.

Edit: I installed the latest GPU driver and there was no change. Stuttering video was bad. I then downloaded Calhoupe's 1.67 version of the scripts and played with them turned on and the stuttering was gone. He may have a good bead on things with the memory issue. All I can think is that the game without the scripts is having issues accessing those memory addresses and with the scripts it's not. Thank You Calhoupe!!!

You can use a tool like DWS to permanently disable windows update/kill off useless apps that leech off the memory. Turning off windows 10 updates is useless in control panel because they turn it right back on after a while.....dws blocks the ip addresses of windows update

I use this to turn off windows updates/cortana/spying/Onedrive/and to delete windows apps like weather, calendar, contacts etc....it frees up memory for games like madden to run faster....

Link above is to revert the DWS software (anti-dws script) and will put back all apps, settings to windows 10 defaults.

The DWS software didn't work for my win10 desktop, it works on my low powered Win8 laptop, but it's just too stutter-y for my taste.

Hey so,

Anyone know a fix outside of Calhoupe's madden scripts? I just can't get Madden scripts to run on my computer. Keep getting a launch error message : failure assigning a temporary name.
Don't know why it's doing that. I had some help from Calhoupe (in the appropriate thread) but I wasn't able to have any success.
So I was wondering if anyone else had come up with an alternative fix or is Calhoupe's work the only thing that people are looking to as a fix?
Just curious is all.
