Re: Anchorage Blizzard in the FI Football League
Playoffs recap
The Blizzard opened their divisional round matchup with a 76-yard TD to James Logan.
Oliver Joyce couldn't grab the ball, but his deflection was caught by Raven Bender and the interception was returned for a TD.
Already down by 3 scores, Shane Zeigler caught an 82-yard touchdown to keep his team in the game.
But Brenden Bowens caught the next 2 touchdowns, including a lucky deflection into his hands.
Keith Glass had a rare strip-sack to keep New York at bay.
Lomas Homan returned an interception on 81 yards for a touchdown.
The Bison made it to the AFC championship game and were visiting Anchorage.
And it started well for them, as Lance Turner opened the score with a 70-yard touchdown.
After a 39-yard TD run by Dwight Jones, Brenden Bowens caught a touchdown to give his team the 14-7 lead.
A deja-vu from last week, as Raven Bender returned the deflected pass for a touchdown.
Turner caught another touchdown, this time at the edge of the endzone, to keep his team in contention.
Jermaine Vincent caught a TD pass, then on the next play, returned a fumble (forced by Bender) to the endzone.
The Blizzard stayed ahead and punched their tickets to the Super Bowl game.
The Blizzard and Defenders were facing off again, this time in San Francisco.
WR Jermaine Vincent opened the score with a 71-yard catch-and-run. We were so excited we forgot to take a picture.
London later intercepted a pass attempt by Vincent, which led Anchorage to use a lot of wildcat strategy to try to make up for it. Vincent finally recorded his 2nd touchdown when he threw past the defender and into Lester Walker's hands.
Under pressure, Nate Clarke threw a bomb to James Logan, who turned it into an 80-yard touchdown, his 3rd TD catch of the day.
The Blizzard kept the lead and clinched the Super Bowl victory.
Congratulations, Blizzard!

Re: Anchorage Blizzard in the FI Football League
Offseason activity
Blocking CB Jerry Morris and WR/HB Jermaine Vincent have both started regressing, but they are being brought back for at least another season.
LT Barry Pratt, along with the 32nd pick, were sent to the Vipers for blocking WR Devon Caudle, OL Cornelius Page and the 48th pick. In 13 seasons with the Blizzard, Pratt had 1359 pancakes to just 49 sacks allowed. In the 3-year span of seasons 121 to 123, he had 448 pancakes to just 7 sacks allowed.
TE Jon Alexander, along with 64th pick, was traded to the Wallabies for TE Martin Gaffney and the 39th pick.

Re: Anchorage Blizzard in the FI Football League
Draft preview
Though the team doesn't have many holes to patch, there are some intriguing players they will look into.
HB Chad Holt, projected in the 2nd round
Fastest running back in the draft (4.30 dash), he is also strong (bench 28) with size (6'1, 244).
FB Jeremiah Hodges, projected in the 6th round
Had a 4.68 dash and is a good blocker (C-)
TE Twan Miller, projected in the 6th round
Had a 4.48 dash and is also strong (bench 30) and a good blocker (C-).
RG Kyle Vincent, projected top 10
A 6'6, 354 blocker who had a dash under 5 seconds (4.99). Benched 42 but might have to work on his awareness (wonderlic 30).
DT Shaun Sylvester, projected in the 1st or 2nd
He is not that big (6'3, 310), but he is strong (bench 42) and a good tackler (B-).
MLB Tyrone Burnsides, projected in the 5th round
A speedy (4.48 dash) inside linebacker who is already a good tackler (B+).
CB Lance Fayson, projected in the 3rd round
Speedier cornerback in the draft (4.24 dash), but his awareness is concerning (wonderlic 20).
FS Pat Jackson, projected in the 1st round
FS Marty Truman, projected in the 2nd round
They have similar dashes (4.35 vs 4.33), but Jackson has the better awareness (wonderlic 42) and tackling technique (B+). Either could also play at strong safety.

Additional notes:
-Kurt Shade's natural position is WR, but he can also play DB and block on special teams. He is very much in the same mold as former longtime Yeti Josh Christensen. He will start as a depth receiver and we'll see from there.
-Matt Westbrook earns the starting FS spot. Willie Sheth remains on the roster as CB3 and backup safety.
