Winslow's final statline for the night:
- 7 Tackles
- 1 Sack
In his first game playing with the first string defense, Winslow stepped up and had a great game. Two of his tackles for the game were on kickoff coverage. Titans QB Marcus Mariota got injured again early in the first quarter, but the injury is not serious. He has played quite a number fewer snaps in the four preseason games than Blaine Gabbert because of his injuries leading some experts to anticipate Gabbert to be named the starting quarterback for the Titans after a great preseason in which he threw for over 700 yards on over 73% completion rate, scored 8 total touchdowns and turned the ball over twice.
Coach Vrabel calls the final preseason game "a disappointing loss", further commenting on the number of fouls the team committed. The Titans committed 7 penalties for 74 yards, compared to just 3 penalties on the Vikings. Most of those penalties were holding calls on the offensive line, and Vrabel said he plans to work hard with his offensive line coach to make sure this doesn't happen once the regular season kicks off.
As for the starting quarterback and the rest of the depth chart going into the season, Vrabel said it will be released after the coaching staff has had its final meeting before the regular season.
Next post: Before the first game of the regular season, I will post the team depth chart and the schedule for the season. Thanks for reading!
