Great 1st quarter!
Um... I mean "bad 1st quarter."
Sorry... I tried. I look forward to the rest.

Re: My First Journal! Bringing the Lombardi Trophy Back to Title-Town
Welcome to the 2nd half of week 5! Packers will get the opening kickoff. This time no half time stats again, game is a little weird at times on that don't know why. From the 13 yard line 6 yards rushing from Williams sets up 3rd and 4, Ripkowski pounds it in for the 1st down A 1 yard gain by Williams followed by a nice 9 yard gain moves the chains once more 1 play action pass since this running drive started and intercepted again by Frazier, under extreme pressure Johnson in throwing it away threw it right to him, the A key didnt work so well this time. Dallas takes over at the 41 yard line of Green Bay 11:00 to play in the 3rd. After 3 passes couldnt move it to a fresh set of downs. Dak decides to go for it on 4th and 3. The call.....
Wayne: "From the 34 of Green Bay, 4th and 3 Packers looking for a stop to this eplosive offense. Prescott under center, Beasely split right, Bryant, Butler, and Witten bunched left. Packers in the Quarter press coverage with 3 safeties deep. Prescott gets the snap, surveys quickly, fires a pass to Witten, he's got it at the 30, looking to turn up field, House tackles him back at the 32 yard line, and the Packers make a stand 1st down Green Bay!
Larry: Davon House stuck to Witten like glue on that play Wayne..."
From the 32 Green Bay looks to capitalize on that defensive performance. Utilizing the run game is important as this Dallas defense is so quick to get the QB. Ripkowski converts another 3rd down After a 8 yard run by Williams set up 2nd and 2 delay of game brought back to a 2nd and 7. Packers end up going 3 and out again with 6:43 to go in the 3rd. Another good punt by Vogel pins Dallas at the 6 yard line. 4 yard run by Elliot followed by a 15 yard completion to Beasely nets a fast 1st down From the 26 2 running plays set up a 3rd and 2, Cooper injures his leg stopping a rusher though. Elliot picked up the 1st again Dak no huddled his way to a 14 yard scramble to the 48 yard line of Green Bay He caught the defense completely out of position 7 more yards of rushing by Elliot set up a 3rd and 3. 17 yard completion to Witten before Ha Ha Clinton Dix brought him down at the 23 yard line. 4 yard run by Elliot to the 19 yard line. 2nd down incomplete pass to Beasely in the endzone, 3rd down Mike Daniels in for a 4 yard sack bringing up 4th and 10. (They are well within FG range so no defense call on this play) The 40 yard attempt is good 27-17 Cowboys 0:19 to go 3rd Quarter That was a really long drive. The Packer defense is probably worn out by now.
Packers start from their 16. Bakhtiari called for holding 1st and 18 to end the 3rd 27-17 Cowboys 16 yard pass to Rodgers and a 4 yard run by Jones has the Packers moving the chains no huddle 1st down 11 yard scramble by Johnson to the 41 of Green Bay 8 yard completion from Joshnson to Rodgers 2nd and 2. Incomplete pass to Cobb. 3rd and 2 Ripkowski again converts for us on a 3 yard run 6 yard completion to Rodgers, and Crawford is injured stopping the no huddle offense 2nd and 4-5 Johnson sacked loss of 8 3rd and 13 The call....
Wayne: Well here we go Rock, 3rd and 13 11 minutes to go in the game and down by 10, do you have a hunch this is a big 3rd down here...
Larry: Actually I think we will be in 4th down territory very soon....
Wayne: Single back offense Packers. Jordy wide left. 3 tight ends on the line, we've seen this play before today, Johnson gets the snap, settles in the pocket, now launches it deep down the left side..... Caught by Jordy Nelson across the 10! Dodges Lewis's tackle to the 5 TouchDown Green Bay! A beautiful 49 yard pass play! After the point after the Packers will be a field goal away from tying this game up!
The point after is good 27-24 Cowboys 10:55 to play
From the 25 Dallas takes over. Matthews stopped Prescott for -2 yards, but a 19 yard pass to Butler kept them moving. Cowboys were no huddling, but there is no excuse to have that much open field around Butler Currently all injured players on the Cowboys are playing again so they weren't serious. The Cowboys stalled at the 48 yard line of Dallas and punt it away. Janis needs a great return here. Touchback 1st and 10 from the 20 8:50 to play down by 3 2 runs for 4 yards sets up 3rd and 6. 10 yard completion to Rodgers nets a 1st Down. (Haven't been able to throw Adams or Cobb open at all today, they are too well covered.) 2 incomplete passes brings up 3rd and 10. 19 yard completion to Jones, chains move again to the 46 of Dallas 21 yard pass play to Nelson 1st Down at the 24 6:14 to play 14 yard pass to Adams 1st and Goal at the 10 The call...
Wayne: 1st and Goal Green Bay from the 10 yard line. Shotgun formation, Adams and Allison form a slot left, Nelson and Cobb slot right. Johnson gets the snap, rolls right, steps up, he's got Allison! Touch Down Green Bay and the Packers have stormed back from 24-7 in the first half to take the lead 30-27 with 4:52 to play!"
With this explosive Cowboy defense I am going for 2, at least get an idea how my offense handles it. 2PT conversion is sucessfull with Ripkowski getting the score
32-27 4:52 to go
1st and 10 from the 18 2 yard run by Elliot, followed by a 10 yard pass to Witten, Cowboys go no huddle 11 yard pass to Beasely and they are already to their own 42 yard line about 3:56 left to play
4 yard scramble by Prescott and an 8 yard run by Elliot they have another fresh set a 1 yard run by Elliot and a 7 yard pass to Beasely 3rd and inches to take us to the 2 minute warning at the 36 of Green Bay 6 yard completion to Beasely who got out of bounds to move the chains to the 30 yard line 1:54
After 2 incomplete passes Prescott got Beasely on a 9 yard in route bringing up 4th and inches at the 20 with 1:40 to play. They are going to go for it Prescott scrambles again for 6 yards gaining the 1st down to the 13 1:28 to play Prescott sacked for a loss of 1 2nd and 11 incomplete pass, 3rd down; 6 yard sack by Mike Daniels bringing up 4th and 17 with 0:58 left. (Forgot to screen that one ugh) This game is too close to have a dagger to it..... The pass fell harmelessly to the turf, turnover on downs Packers take over with 0:51 left From the 20 Williams loss of 1 time out called by Dallas 0:48 left Incomplete pass 3rd and 9 29 yard pass to Jones to gain the 1st and Dallas calls their 2nd time out 0:39 left 9 yard run by Jones and Dallas calls their last time out with 36 seconds left 2nd and 1 Ripkowski gained the 1st and the Packers will kneel out the remaining seconds. Final score 32-27 Packers!
Sorry RevanFan Looks like a backup can come from behind and win just like in 2013! AT&T Stadium the new Lambeau Field South lol. Im only kidding, I thought for sure I was going to lose this game, until I got Jordy on that fade route for the score. Next week, we head US Bank Stadium to take on the Vikings who still are undefeated at 5-0 as the Packers and Patriots are also. Interesting season thus far! Oh, Jordy Nelson was named the NFC Offensive Player Of The Week!

Re: My First Journal! Bringing the Lombardi Trophy Back to Title-Town
Welcome to week 6 of Packers Football. After a close victory over the Cowboys, the Packers head to Us Bank Stadium to take on the NFC North leader the Vikings. The Vikings have an impressive array of receivers as well so the corner depth chart will be slightly altered ingame. As it stands now our defense is ranked 21 after the Dallas game. Minnesota seems to have better ratings overall. Lets get this party started! The Vikings won the toss and defer to the second half.
Johnson gets to see another heavy D Line this time from the Vikings. Janis returns to the 16 yard line. Jamaal Williams has a nice 9 yard gain on 1st down and gains the 1st on the next play Williams for another 4. Subbed him out for Jones to give him some rest 2nd and 6 Jones picked up the 1st down and Eric Kendricks got hurt on the tackle He will return in 5 plays Jones on a gain of 3 2nd and 7 6 yard run by Williams brings 3rd and 1 at the 49 yard line of Green Bay 4 yard power run by Ripkowski moves the chains to the 47 of Minnesota 7 straight run plays so far 5 yard run by Williams 2nd and 5. 3 yard run by Williams 3rd and 2 Ripkowski converts again with a 3 yard run loss of 1 on a right side toss to Ripkowski, then a 9 yard scamper by Williams on a counter. 3rd and 2 Ripkowsi will hopefully convert again. Entirely running this drive 7:25 left in the 1st Quarter Ripkowski is stopped about 6 inches from
the fresh set of downs. Could go for 3 or pound it in on a direct snap its a gamble after an 8 minute drive I would like 7 points on the board with the impressive run game that Minnesota has. The longer my offense stays on the field they are on the sideline, We get it 1st and 10 at the 21. A 5 yard run by Williams and a 3 yard dive, 3rd and 2 Ripkowski should get hopefully. This is a long drive We get the first down 1st and Goal at the 7. Playcalling will be harder as the defense really tightens up. Fullback dive 2 yard gain 2nd and Goal from the 5 lost 4 yards on 2nd down 3rd and Goal at the 9 The call...
Wayne: "3rd and Goal Packers 20th play of the 12 minute drive that started at the 16 of Green Bay. Shotgun formation Slots left and right. Johnson gets the snap
rolls right and launches it, he's got Jones wide open TouchDown Packers!
Larry: Whew took long enough, but they got it in there on the defense ranked 3rd in total defense. Superb play calling there. I think that 4th down call was what really helped set this one up."
The extra point is good 7-0 Packers 2:50 to play in the 1st Quarter.
Sherels takes it out to the 23 where the Vikings set up. Bridgewater and Keenum are injured so its up to Sam Bradford to get it done. Ham got a quick 8 yards and an 8 yard run by Murray moves the chains 21 yard completion to Diggs and the Vikings are moving down the field quickly Another 8 yard run by Murray and the Packers haven't found an answer yet 3 yard run by Murray to move the chains and end the 1st 7-0 Packers 2 yard pass to Ham 2nd and 8 no huddle Vikings. 2 yard completion to Thielen 3rd and 5 ish. Sacked by Clark for a loss of 4. 4th and 9 they are in FG range so they try a 43 yarder Forbath kicks it wide left Green Bay takes over at their 32 yard line. 13:27 to go 1st half 7 yard run by Williams. Here is the total offense production thus far 3 yard run by Williams gains a 1st down 6 yard run by Williams 2nd and 4 Another 6 yard run by Williams and a fresh set of downs.11 yard run for another 1st down by Williams subbing Jones in now Jones picks up 5. 2nd and 5 Stopped for a loss of 1 3rd and 6 12 yard pass to Rodgers and down to the 17 inside the redzone 3 yard run by Williams 2nd and 7 7 yard run by Jones 1st and Goal at the 7 The call....
Wayne: "The Packers are 7 yards from the endzone on another long drive nearly 6 and half minutes gone by. Shotgun formation, Adams and Cobb form a slot left Jordy wide right. Johnson gets the snap, drops back 3, fires a pass to the endzone... he's got Richard Rodgers, TouchDown Green Bay; who now have 13 unanswered points!"
The extra point is good 14-0 Packers 7:05 to go in the half
Sherels should have taken the knee in the endzone, but he brought it out brought down at the 8. After 2 incompletions a 20 yard pass to McKinnon (he was listed as probable they must have subbed him in....) moved the chains no huddle Bradford. 10 yard pass to Diggs another 1st down to the 39 yard line Ryan stopped Murray for a loss of 5 on a toss left play. 2nd down incomplete pass 3rd and 15 going 5 wide incomplete pass 3 and out. From the 17 5:32 to go in the half. Hopefully another long scoring drive! 4 yard run by Williams 2nd and 6 loss of 2 3rd and 8. Going to have to pass this time 9 yard sack by Hunter (he led with his helmet.) 4th and 17 punt. From the 43 of Minnesota the Vikings start 3:25 to go in the half incomplete pass by Bradford and a 2 yard loss by Murray 3rd and 12 11 yard completion to Diggs isn't enough for the 1st and he injures his head on the play. 4th and inches they punt. Downed at the 9 yard line just at the 2:01 mark. Would be nice to go up 3 scores going into half time. 9 yard run by Williams 1:58 to play. Another 6 yard run 1st down 1:45 to go in the half
Williams loss of 1. 2nd and 11 Packers call timeout 13 yard completion to Jones for the 1st down 1:20 to go in the half Deep pass to Jordy fell incomplete 2nd and 10 1:10 to go The call....(Its a big one )
Wayne: 2nd and 10 Green Bay Johnson under center 4 receivers slots left and right. Johnson gets the snap, drops back rolls right throws intended for Cobb, intercepted by Sendejo at the 48 yard line, running it back across the 45- 40 Bulaga knocked it loose! Aaron Jones recovered it!
Larry: YES!
Wayne: Turning up field, 45-50 stiff arms Rhodes to the turf, 45-40, 35-30, 25-20 and he high steps his way into the endzone a 58 yard fumble recovery for the TouchDown! Unbelievable ... and the Packers take command 20-0 with 0:51 remaining in the 1st half!
Larry: Wow Bulaga laid such a hit on Sendejo, that really jarred that ball loose...."
The extra point is good 21-0 Packers. Minnesota starts at their 17 yard line with 0:48 left 1st and 10 2 yard run by Murray 2nd and 8. Another call....
Wayne: 2nd and 8 Vikings, Bradford under center, Murray in motion to the right side, Bradford gets the snap, drops back now steps up in the pocket. Hit by Mike Daniels as he threw...
Larry: Picked off!
Wayne: Clay Matthews has it across the 20 to the 15, 10, 5 Touchdown Green Bay on a pick 6 from Bradford, 27-0 with 38 seconds remaining in the 1st half! Ya know Rock, we may have an early Dagger here!
Larry: This is the performace we like to see out of the Packer defense, great play by Matthews!
The extra point is good 28-0 Packers Vikings return the kickoff to the 14 yard line. Kevin King injures his hand on the stop 2 yard run by Murray 2nd and 8 and the half ends 28-0 Packers This has been a fun 1st half! Stay tuned for the 2nd part later today!
Re: My First Journal! Bringing the Lombardi Trophy Back to Title-Town
Welcome to the 2nd half of week 6! Vikings receive the second half kickoff Here are the half time stats... Sherels returns it to the 19. Kevin King is out for the game with a broken finger. So one of our faster corners is down. With the impressive receiving corps of the Vikings intact there could be fast scoring in this half. Damarious Randall takes Kevin Kings spot in the depth chart for now. Deep pass incomplete to Thielen 4-5 yard completion to Thielen brings a 3rd and 5 Pass batted away incomplete and Treadwell is injured (but will return in 6 plays) 3 and out punt it away Janis has an 8 yard return to the 44 yard line where the Packer's offense sets up shop. Packers go 3 and out and punt From the 20 12:57 in the 3rd Vikings go 3 and out immediately and punt. Janis fumbles it out of bounds at the Green Bay 28. 1st and 10 6 yard run by Jones 3 yard gain brings up 3rd and inches FB time! 3 yard run by Ripkowski nets a 1st down
3 yard loss on a power toss play right, 2nd and 13 we need a little play action... Drive stalled at the 46 yard line and the Packers punt From the 20 9:17 to go in the 3rd. 17 yard pass to Thielen for the 1st down 12 yard run by Murray, ball at midfield 29 yard completion to Thielen they are in the redzone for the 1st time in the game! 11 yard run by Murray to the 9 yard line 1st and Goal. This defense is giving up way to much yardage..... incomplete pass 2nd and Goal... The call...
Wayne: 2nd and Goal Vikings. I formation backfield. Murray in motion. Bradford gets the snap, Packers blitz and the Minnesota picks it up. Bradford fires and he's got Diggs wide open Touch Down Vikings.....
Larry: Josh Hawkins was just a little too quick on his turn back and that gave Diggs just enough time. Great throw by Bradford regardless.....
The extra point is good. 28-7 Packers 7:24 to play in the 3rd. Janis has a great return to the 37 yard line. The offense needs to get more productive this half as it has stalled out so far. Bulaga held 1st and 20 back to the 27 yard line. 13 yard completion to Jones 2nd and 7 Another 22 yard completion to Jones for a big 1st down 5 yard run by Jones 2nd and 5 bringing Williams back in. Loss of 1 3rd and 5. 13 yard pass to Rodgers moves the chains and brings the offense almost in the redzone 4 yard run by Ripkowski 2nd and 6 5 yard run by Ripkowski 3rd and inches Ripkowski didn't get it this time and the drive falters at the 12. Crosby in for 3 The 29 yard attempt is good 31-7 Packers with 1:37 to play in the 3rd Quarter Minneosta starts at their 15 yard line. 11 yard run by Murray 15 yard completion to Rudolph moves the chains and end the 3rd Quarter 1 yard run by Ham 2nd and 9 the call....
Wayne: Shotgun formation... slots left and right, Thielen wide right. From the 41 yard line. Bradford gets the snap, drops back rolls right rainbows it deep down the rights side, he's got his man at the 20 yard line, Hawkins missed his tackle.... Touchdown Vikings a 59 yard pass to Adam Thielen for the score and the Vikings are trying to rally back.....
And they go for 2 Perry breaks that up nicely
Kickoff out of bounds Packers start from the 40 14:16 left to play. 3 yard loss by Williams 2nd and 13 incomplete pass to Adams, 3rd and 13 19 yard scramble by Johnson for the 1st down 2 yard run by Williams followed by a 7 yard run brings up 3rd and 1 4 yard run by Ripkowski moves the chains 1 yard loss by Williams 2nd and 11 another loss of 1, followed by a sack from Joseph back to the 36 yard line. A 53 yard FG attempt by Crosby... The kick is good 34-13 Packers 8:58 to play! Vikings start at the 23 yard line 8:55 to play. 1st and 10 pass incomplete to Diggs. 2nd and 10 incomplete. 3rd down complete to Thielen for 14 yards and the fresh set of downs 10 yard run by Ham 1st down Here is the points per game average for Minnesota (never saw that one before) 3 and out and they go for it on 4th down The call....
Wayne: "4th and 12.... Vikings go 5 wide from the gun. 3 receivers left 2 to the right. Bradford gets the snap, settles in the pocket, now flushed right, hit and Sacked! And the Packers take over on downs with 6:44 to play up by 21 points! And There Is Your NFC North Division Dagger!"
Larry: The Packers will finally win at US Bank Satdium and in a commanding fashion!"
The Packers start the drive already in Viking territory at the 40 yard line. 8 yard run by Williams then another 3 for the 1st down 2 yard loss by Williams then another big sack 3rd and 22 Picked up 14 of it, but not enough to move the chains. Crosby comes on for a 45 yard FG The kick is good 37-13 with 3:15 to play
Vikings at the 20 3:12 to play. 6 yard pass to Thielen 2nd and 4 incomplete pass 3rd and 4 no huddle incomplete 4th down they punt with 2:53 to play. 3 yard run by Williams 2:41 to go run for no gain to take us to the 2 minute warning. 3rd and 7 16 yard pass to Jones for the 1st, run for no gain 2nd and 10, 4 yard pass to Rodgers 3rd and 6 7 yard pass to Rodgers brings a 1st down With 40 seconds remaining 1 kneel down will do it! And the Packers win 37-13 against the 3rd ranked defense in the league to become the Kings of the North!
Those points per game stats were very interesting; I wonder why we don't see those more often.....Next week we take on the Saints at Lambeau Field! Incidently, Drew Brees was NFC Offensive Player Of The Week. Let's see if we can keep the perfect record going as Packers are currently the only team right now with a perfect record. Hope you all are enjoying this series!

Re: My First Journal! Bringing the Lombardi Trophy Back to Title-Town
Welcome to week 7 of Packers football! This week Drew Brees heads to Lambeau Field to take on the Packers who just dispatched the 3rd ranked defense in the league. The Saints have not had a great season thus far, but with the improved run game, and Drew's great accuracy this could be a Packer loss coming up, if our pass defense doesn't improve. Lets get started! In selecting the Packers' Home uniform it sets the Saints to their own home uniform the solid black. I have to set it to use Alternate 8 as the closest. (Helmets are more gold, but I think that will be fine) A rainy day at Lambeau Field the Saints win the toss and defer to the 2nd half. Johnson will be playing in his first inclement weather game. Hopefully we get the win! Kamara is out for the season according to the injury report so that is one less weapon that the Saints have. Here are the division standings Packers start from the 25 after a booming touchback. Williams ran for a 1st down in 2 quick plays 1st and 10 pass to Kendricks batted away incomplete 2nd down a 36 yard pass to Adams for a big 1st Down to the 26 of New Orleans 2 yard run by Jones, 2nd and 8. A 13 yard counter brings us to a 1st and Goal at the 10. 2 incomplete passes and a sack for 8 yards by Jordan sets up 4th down, with an easy FG in the offering. The 34 yard attemp is good 3-0 Packers 10:51 in the 1st Quarter Saints start at their 25 yard line after the touch back. Saints go 3 and out and punt. Packers start from the 25 9:24 to play 1st Quarter 3 yard run by Williams and a 4-5 yard pass to Nelson, 3rd and 2 RIpkowski gains 6 for the 1st down Actually got a screen pass to Work for 13 yards by Jones. 1 yard gain by Williams. 2nd and 9 at the 46. Drive stalled there Packers punt it away and Johnson has a head injury out for a couple of plays to be evaluated. Saints start at their 7 6:01 in the 1st Quarter Line stopped for no gain. Again 3 and out and punt. Packers take over at the 49 yard line of New Orleans and go 3 and out. The bad weather is making the ball slippery I guess. New Orleans starts from the 20 14 yard run by Ingram for a fast 1st down 47 yard completion to Thomas and the Saints are in the redzone at the 18 5 yard run by Ingram, then incomplete pass 3rd and 5. The call....
Wayne: "3rd and 5 from the 12 yard line. Brees alone under center, spreading the field. Ginn and Snead slot left Coleman and Thomas to the right. Packers pressing the receivers. Brees gets the snap drops back 3 launches it pass is caught by Thomas.... Touchdown New Orleans.... Rock that looked a little too easy...
Larry: Yea Wayne, King was covering Thomas perfectly, Brees got that ball in a miniscule window for the score...."
The extra point is good 7-3 Saints 2:07 1st Quarter A poor return by Janis means the Packers start at their 12 this time. (Boy do I miss seeing him on the field) 14 yard pass to Rodgers on 3rd and 10 moves the chains Packers going no huddle. 5 yard pass to Ripkowski then a 7 yard completion to Rodgers for another 1st to end the 1st Quarter, (forgot to screen capture that one woops!) 7-3 Saints. Packers still running a no huddle 2 incompletions by Johnson followed by a 25 yard completion to Jones brings the Packers to the 35 yard line of New Orleans. Drive went backwards from there thanks to a sack by Jordan 4th and 16 at the 41 Punt was shanked, Saints start at the 22 yard line 13:27 to go in the half. Clark was offsides 1st and 5 Ingram for no gain 2nd and 6, The call....
Wayne: 2nd Down New Orleans. Brees under center, Ingram in the backfield. Receivers bunched right with Ginn wide left. Brees gets the snap, drops back rolling left, steps up, rainbows, hes got Ginn at the 45, Brown missed a tackle and he's gone untouched into the endzone A 74 yard pass for the score.....
Larry: Its a little concerning how much open field was around Ginn jr.... "
The extra point is good 14-3 Saints 12:36 to go in the half Janis takes it out to the 15 and the Packers start there. We cant fall too far behind. This is the 1st matchup against a HoF SB winning QB this season. Packers again go 3 and out, on a sack by Hendrickson Saints start from their 48 yard line 14 yard run by Ingram 1st down New Orleans 1 yard run by Ingram and an 11 yard completion to Ginn nets another 1st down. 1 yard run by Ingram and another 5 yarder to Ginn brings up 3rd and 4. Encroachment = 1st down at the 15. This game isn't going very well.... Brees tried to scramble, but Matthews came in for a loss of 5 2nd and 15 The drive stalls at the 11 yard line with a 4th and 6. Saints will just put up another 3 points. The kick by Lutz is good 17-3 Saints 6:11 to play in the 1st half. Returned to the 15 yard line, Packers have to get something going here; Johnson's completion % is deplorable... The run game is being stuffed too. Pass to Cobb sailed and overshot, Jones gets a lucky 8 yard gain, bringing up 3rd and 2. Packers get slammed at the line 4th and 2. We need a momentum shift, anything.... gonna try it. Ripkowski pulls 10 on the trick play, moving the chains finally. Pass intended for Jordy incomplete, 13 yard catch and run by Jones brings a new set of downs Incomplete pass to Cobb on the slant 2nd and 10. Finally a good call!
Wayne: From the 47 yard line. 2nd and 10 Johnson spreads the field 5 wide. 3 bunched right. Adams and Cobb slot left. Johnson gets the snap, under pressure immediately, rolls left and rainbows deep down the left side. He's got Adams at the 30! Breaks free from one tackle to the 20 to the 10 Touchdown Green Bay and the Packers strike back!
Larry: Adams ran an option with the post as the primary route, and had just enough seperation to make the catch..."
The extra point is good 17-10 Saints 3:34 to go in the half. Saints start from their 19. Hopefully the defense can hold better. 1st and 10 The call...
Wayne: 1st and 10 Saints. Brees under center, Thomas wide right Ginn and Snead to the left. Brees gets the snap, drops back 5, fires a pass to Snead, Picked Off! Ha Ha Clinton Dix with a return of 6 yards!
Larry: There we go!"
From the 28 of New Orleans 6 yard pass to Adams 2nd and 4 11 yard pass to Nelson on a screen, what do you know.. they actually do work!
1st and Goal at the 10, tried another screen off the left side instead, stopped for a loss of 1 2nd and Goal takes us to the 2 minute warning. Drive stalled at the 11 thanks to two drops by Adams, just put up 3 The 28 yard attempt is good 17-13 Saints 1:50 to go in the 1st half. Saints start from the 16. 11 yard run by Ingram 1st down 21 yard pass to Thomas, Finally the Saints stalled and punt from the 46 of Green Bay Touchback; out to the 20 55 seconds left 3 timeouts before half time, 1st down. Hendrickson sack for loss of 6 2nd and 16 25 yards of passing to Cobb on 2 plays moves the chains, 1 time out left 33 left to play from the 39 yard line 21 yard completion to Montgomery to the 40 of New Orleans with 13 seconds left and no timeouts. We could try for 7 before half time to get the lead as Drew has been playing great here and we could very well lose this game in the 2nd half! Crosby could make a super long try though, I am willing to try for the FG as Johnson hasn't been as on target today. A 57 yard attempt for Crosby whose career longest was 58! Not quite enough..... head wind! 0:09 left to go in the half From the 47 of New Orleans Drew brees gets the ball, 15 yard pass to Ginn down to the 38 of Green Bay and the Saints call time out with 4 seconds remaining intending to go for the FG Wide Right (no screen last play of the half) The 1st half ends 17-13 Saints.
I wish our defense held up better to passing attacks, no matter what franchise I play, my pass defense is ranked almost last in the league.... even without user controlling defenders. Stay tuned for the 2nd half of this close game!
Wayne: "3rd and 5 from the 12 yard line. Brees alone under center, spreading the field. Ginn and Snead slot left Coleman and Thomas to the right. Packers pressing the receivers. Welcome to the 2nd half of Week7! Here are the relevant half time stats.... Looks like the weather broke too so sunshine for now. From the 20 yard line... 1 yard run by Ingram than a 2 yard run brings up 3rd and 7 31 yard pass to Fleener big 1st down no huddle Brees Encroachment by clark 1st and 5 at Green Bay's 40 10 yard run by Ingram new set of downs Incomplete pass by Brees then a 14 yard run by Ingram to the 12 yard line man he moves fast.... 66 yards in 3 minutes! Incomplete pass to the endzone 3 yard run by Edmunds 3rd and 6, incomplete pass. Lutz on for a 26 yard FG attempt The kick is good 20-13 11:18 in the 3rd Janis takes the knee in the endzone, start from the 25 yard line. Ball was downed at the 7 yard line 1st and 10 Saints 9 yard run by Ingram 2nd and 1 cmon D! The call....

1st and 10 at the 16. 8 yard run by Williams 2nd and 2 Stopped for no gain the Saints defense is really getting tight here... 3rd and 2 The call...
Wayne: 3rd and 2 at the 8 yard line... Johnson under center, offset I; Nelson, slot left with Jones in the backfield. Johnson gets the snap, handoff to Jones up the middle, Touch Down Packers and they are an extra point away from getting this game tied! A beautiful touchdown run!
Larry: That run had great blocking, but Jones powered his way through 2 linebackers, a great score!"
The extra point is good 20-20 6:02 to go in the 3rd. New Orleans starts at their 19 (I did some formation subs on the special teams, putting faster blockers to help with punt returns) 9 yard run by Ingram 2nd and 1 sacked for a loss of 3 by Ryan 3rd and 4 incomplete pass. 3 and out they punt it away, Janis takes it at the 26 bringing it to Green Bay's 33 yard line. 8 yard run by Williams 2nd and 2 loss of 1 by Williams 3rd and 3 again Ripkowski can't pound it through, 3 and out punt it away. Touchback to the 20 2:33 in the 3rd 12 yard run by Ingram 12 yard pass to Thomas 1st down 44 yard line of New Orleans 1 yard run by Line 2nd and 9 pass for no gain as Burnett got to Fleener quickly, incomplete pass to go 3 and out. Punt it away. Touchback to the 20 0:43 to go in the 3rd No blocking at all 11 yard sack by Hendrickson 2nd and 21 to end the 3rd 20-20 13 yard pass to Jones 3rd and 8 incomplete pass again 4th and 8 punt it away... been a 2nd half of punts it seems A 60 yard punt punt returned to the 43 yard line of New Orleans puts the Saints in good field position. 14:07 to go in the game 8 yard run by Ingram... 2nd and 2 Brees sacked by King loss of 2 Incomplete pass 4th and 4 they punt it away. Out to the 20 13:08 to play 12 yard run by Jones 1st down 5 yard of running by Jones in 2 plays 3rd and 4 10 yard completion to Jones 1st down from the 48 3 yard loss on a left toss, 2nd and 14ish incomplete to Kendricks. 3rd and 14 Jordy dropped a pass!? Punt it away again. New Orleans starts at their 14 with 9:37 to play in the game 12 yard run by the fullback Line 1st down Perry called for a 15 yard facemask auto 1st down at the 48 of New Orleans 2nd down after an incomplete pass 7 yard run by Ingram 3rd and 3. Incomplete pass to Ginn the Saints go 3 and out and punt from Green Bay's 44 yard line. The punt went out at the 2! Jones stopped for a loss of 1 2nd and 11 (just missed a safety) Picked up 6 on a run by Williams 3rd and 5 from the 7 27 yard completion to Rodgers 1st down at the 35 yard line of Green Bay Jones for a 5 yard run 2nd and 5 Phantom hold call on Bulaga 2nd and 15 18 yard completion to Jones 1st and 10 1 yard loss by Williams 2nd and 11. 13 yard pass to Williams 1st down at New Orleans' 40 16 yard run by Williams 1st down at the 24 2:52 to go in the game 1 yard loss by Williams 2nd and 11 to take us to the 2 minute warning. Bulaga held again 2nd and 21 damn it, blew out a 26 yard TD run.... 3 yard run by Jones 3rd and 18 1:41 to play Saints called their 1st time out at 1:29 left to play. Johnson sacked on the roll out to the right by Bell 4th and 29 Out of FG range if we can just hold them to over time! Punted it almost to the 1 yard line, House batted it back to the 11 1:18 to play (exciting game!) 3 yard run by Ingram 2nd and 7 clock running 6 yard completion to Ginn who injures his elbow stopping the clock with 50 seconds left and 3rd and inches at the Saints' 21 4 yard run by Line no huddle Brees 46 seconds left. My goal is to stop them and head to overtime... incomplete pass, 2nd and 10 37 seconds left 6 yard completion to Snead 3rd and 4 clock running 31 seconds 4th down 19 seconds left they punt it away after a deep ball fell harmlessly downfield. From the Green Bay 22; 12 seconds left all 3 timeouts hmmmm any ideas? 55 yard pass to Adams however time expired and left us short of a touchdown when he brought down by Crawley and we go to overtime tied 20-20 Hope my strategy doesn't backfire... Now I have the updated OT rules enabled and set to 10 minutes per the update. Packers won the toss and receive From the 19 yard line. Johnson again hit and sacked by Rankins 2nd and 16 3 yard completion to Jones. 3rd and 13. What would have been a 27 yard completion to Rodgers, he dropped it! 4th and 13. This is over time and I can't turn it over on downs... Have to punt. Saints take over at their 28 8:29 to go in OT 19 yard run by Ingram 1st and 10 at the 48 yard line of New Orleans. The call....
Wayne: 1st and 10 Saints at their 48 under 8 minutes to go in over time. Green Bay looking to keep Lutz out of FG range. Brees under center, Ingram and Line offset I. Coleman and Thomas right Snead wide left. Ingram gets the handoff, up the middle, he's hit by Perry, Fumbled!!! Mike Daniels scooped it up!
Larry Yes!!!!
Wayne: The Packers just need to drive it down to Mason Crosby's range to end this...."
Williams gained 9 yards in 2 plays bringing 3rd and inches. Ripkowski pounded it through to the 39 of New Orleans for a 1st down. 11 yard run by Jones to the 28 Center it and Kick. 1st down loss of 4 2nd and 14 off the lefttackle. Right side toss gain of 10 3rd and 4 to the right hash... Ripkowki right side dive towards center stopped for no gain 4th and 4. The call...
Wayne: "This will be a 37 yard Field Goal by Crosby off of the right hash. Goode snaps the ball, Hundley holds, the kick is up... and it is GOOD!!!! The Packers win in overtime 23-20 and they keep their record intact!!"
Larry: A great game today Wayne, lots of excitement!"
Crosby nailed the FG to end the game 23-20 Packers (Sorry for lack of screen shots last play of the game and all) The Packers held off the Saints for an overtime victory! Can't believe that Drew Brees had a 42% completion ratio...The Packers are at their bye week, so time to get some practice in before the Lions come to town...We are half way through the season so we get to see how the rest of the league is doing.... Enjoy the stats! Also Vince Biegel is healed up so we have another healthy LB. Aaron will be healed in about 4 weeks, we should hopefully do well and make the post season barring any catastrophe. By the way jose I plan to use your new play book against the Lions!
Wayne: "2nd and 1 New Orleans Brees under center in the offset I. Brees gets the snap fakes to Ingram, fires a quick pass to Fleener.... Intercepted! The rookie Kevin King picked it off!
Larry: Green Bay starts at the 16 yard line some excellent field position let's hope they can do something with this..."
1st and 10 at the 16. 8 yard run by Williams 2nd and 2 Stopped for no gain the Saints defense is really getting tight here... 3rd and 2 The call...

Re: My First Journal! Bringing the Lombardi Trophy Back to Title-Town
Drew didn't have the best day. You still got that W though, that's what matters. Good thing you are using the playbook. I'll actually work a bit on a custom Packers playbook too.

Re: My First Journal! Bringing the Lombardi Trophy Back to Title-Town
Well, I will be uploading the next game soon. It is a disheartening loss against the Lions.... Everything that could go wrong in a game did go wrong. Golden Tate had a great game, as did Zettel.... I was using the new playbook, the new formations looked great. Darius Slay is almost impossible to pass against though; great hands for batting balls away. Stay tuned I have the whole game ready just waiting for imgur to finish with the images.

Re: My First Journal! Bringing the Lombardi Trophy Back to Title-Town
Welcome to Packers football! After the Bye Week, the Lions head to Lambeau Field hoping to shatter Green Bay's perfect record on prime time Monday Night Football. Our defense has had issues with stopping deep passing, and with Matthew Stafford, you can be certain he will be passing to Tate repeatedly. Secondary adjusted again, to put my most hard hitting corner on Tate. Will probably put Joe Thomas as a QB spy if Stafford tries to scramble. A breezy night at Lambeau Field approximately 10 mph winds. Lions won the toss and defer, Packers will take the wind.... Janis takes a knee in the endzone out to the 25 yard line. I am using the new playbook that has a few more Gun formations and hope to improve the passing attack that has been slow under Johnson thus far. Williams gained 8 yards on 2 running plays 3rd and 2. Ripkowski didn't quite make it 4th and inches. Going to try it Ripkowski got stuffed on the direct snap this time. Turnover on downs already... Lions take over at the 35 of Green Bayy in excellent field position 13:08 in the 1st Quarter 2 incomplete passes and a big play! The call....
Wayne: "3rd and 10 Lions Stafford under center, spreads the field. Stafford gets the snap under pressure immediately by Lowry, hit and fumbled the football!
Recovered by Ryan at the 39 yard line!
Larry: That's a real heads up play there!"
From the 39 yard line of Green Bay 1st and 10 Packers 5 yards of running on 1st and 2nd down brings up 3rd and 5 7 yard pass to Rodgers moves the chains All for naught as intercepted by Davis on the next play. Lions take over at the 48 of Green Bay 1st down sacked by Perry for a loss of 5 they go 3 and out and punt it away 9:33 to play in the 1st Quarter ball went out at the 7 yard line 1st and 10 Green Bay a 5 yard run by Jones 2nd and 5 loss of 2 3rd and 7. Again Davis is like a ball hawk another interception damn it. 1st and Goal lions at the 9 8:05 to play 1st Quarter The call....
Wayne: "1st and Goal, Stafford under center Riddick in the backfield. Jones split left Tate wide right. Stafford gets the snap, Randall blitzes off the corner, Stafford steps up avoiding the hit, he's got Roberts at the 2 yard line hit immediately by Perry. Wait he fell towards the endzone, they signal touchdown Lions....
Larry: I don't know Wayne, Perry tackled him so fast, it looked like his right knee touched the turf outside the endzone, before the ball crossed the goal line...
Wayne: I think Mike may challenge this one, if only to try to hold them to 3 points if the defense can hold."
My challenge bar is greyed out so I guess they get this one...... The extra point is good 7-0 Lions. Janis takes it out to the 21 yard line 7:58 1st Quarter 1st and 10 Green Bay 1st down deep pass to Jordy overshot, 2nd down 4 yard run by Jones 3rd and 6, 8 yard completion to Rodgers 1st down at the 33 yard line 3 yard loss by Williams 2nd and 13 4 yard loss on a toss right 3rd and 17 incomplete pass. 3 and out punt it away. Tate returns the punt to the 35 of Detroit 1st and 10 5:04 1st Quarter 29 yard pass to Tate sets up a good first down at the 39 yard line 2 yards of running on 2 downs by Riddick brings 3rd and 8ish. 11 yard completion to Tate to move the chains to the Green Bay 27, he injured his shoulder on the reception. 67 yard completion to Jones 2nd and 4 no huddle 4 yard pass to Riddick 1st down at the 15 Tate wil return in 6 plays... 3 yard loss by Riddick 2nd and 13 9 yard run by Fells 3rd and 4 to end the 1st Quarter 7-0 Lions Stafford sacked by Montravious Adaams loss of 2 4th and 6 FG unit comes on for a 29 yard attempt. Prater kicks a line drive 10-0 Lions 14:18 to play 1st half (no scoring summary weird....) Janis returns it to the 15 yard line, the special teams must improve their blocking some how. 6 yard run by Williams 1 yard run by Williams 3rd and 3..... Johnson has imploded thus far. 2-7 on completions +2 INTS; my gracious . RB direct snap on 4th and 3 we need to move the ball (This Lion defense is pretty stout) Ripkowski makes the 1st down 1st and 10 25 yard line 12:51 to go 1st half 6 yard run by Jones 2nd and 4 2 yard run by Jones 3rd and 2 This Lions run AND pass defense is superb, 4th and inches, worrysome..... direct snap, they are going to get used to that I think. Not to worry Ripkowski pulled 10 on the play! 1st down at the 45 of Green Bay 10:24 to play 1st half. 9 yard run by Jones 2nd and 1 Jones loss of 3 3rd and 4 again. Sacked by Zettel 4th and 13 (no one open and no room to scramble, not enough time to hit the A key....) Punt it away. Offense can't even cross midfield.... 1st and 10 Lions at their 34 yard line 7:48 to go in the half 3 yard loss by Riddick, brought down by Perry 2nd and 13 no huddle Stafford.. 3 and out punt it away Packers start at their 13 6:47 to play 1st half. 11 yard pass to Jordy, 1st down no huddle. (Lets see how they like it lol) 1st and 10 incomplete to Adams on a drag 2nd down Williams fumbled on a backward pass dropping it at the 15. Zettel picked it up and ran in for the score
