Is it preferable to the play-by-play description I've written in the past? I feel like it's been getting way too verbose and I'd like to focus on graphic design rather than writing.

I know that feeling. I've been trying to reduce the amount of text in my journal so that I can post them faster. I think it is all right this way. I would recommend writing some of the key plays and drives (Like how Gostkowski 4th quarter kick was the game winner, even with 10 mins on the clock), but right now, it looks good.
I've seen something similar happen before. Sometimes, ball carriers just start running backwards because they are shedding a block and then get tackled a few yards behind the line. Or they get stuck in the stiff arm animation for a good 10 yards running backwards, then turn the field and get tackled. And considering the time of possession (22:10), it is not a surprise they just ran the ball 7 times. They didn't have time to run anymore and just let Jimmy G take over.

I think it looks awesome! The graphic designs are really cool.
Fascinating that the 49ers are lacking a rushing game in your franchise as well. It was almost non-existent in the first season for me and hit and miss in the second.
I would like to see key plays as well or at least major events, like what happened to Jimmy G, did he get hurt early. How, for how long, etc.?
