On a warm, calm spring evening in Frankfurt, Timothy Broady explodes from his strong safety position to take Brad Goebel to the ground in the backfield.



Stefan Maslo kicks for 3, scoring first for the Frankfurt Galaxy.



Alex Espinoza from Los Angeles, California sees action at the end of the opening quarter when Mike Perez staggers to the sideline following a blow. Espinoza lead an efficient drive ending in another Maslo field goal.



Roman Anderson responds with the Sea Devils' first points in the second quarter.



Free safety Keith McCoy starts the game for injured Mark Seals and promptly ends Hamburg's scoring chance in the endzone.



Hamburg center Tom Baugh draws the flag from the umpire when he gets a grasp on the bicep of Mark Mraz.



Mike Perez returns to the lineup in the 2nd quarter and hands off to half back Anthony Wallace. Cal Golden Bear Wallace lead the Galaxy on the ground with 66 yards from scrimmage.



In the 4th period Stacey Simmons out plays Lonnie Finch to score his 5th touchdown of World League 92. Simmons' scoring reception was the only six point score of the game.



Slot receiver John Jackson secures the football following the collision in the endzone for the two point conversion. Hamburg couldn't take it back for the go ahead points in time and for the 10th time in 4 weeks of World League play a game is decided by less then 4 points.

After missing the opening screenshot of the Barcelona Dragons traveling to Olympic Stadium to take on the Montreal Machine, we get to see Louie Aguiar kickoff his last game of his World League career before breaking several ribs attempting a tackle later in the first half.



Kevin Sweeney returns to the Montreal Machine football team as the starting quarterback and completed 5 straight passes resulting in a touchdown to begin Monday Night Football on the USA Network.



Pete Mandley busts off 50 yards to score in Montreal, earning his third touchdown of the season.



Bjorn Nittmo scores on the next Machine possession giving the home team the early lead.



Aguiar appears in his final World League 92 journal entry when he holds for the three point score from Massimo Manca.



"Batman" makes the play on the sideline out dueling corner Adrian Jones.



Scott Erney stands tall in the pocket as the Machine swarm and fires a touchdown pass to tie the score.



Veteran receiver Gene Taylor catches his first score of Monday Night Football under the new ceiling at Olympic Stadium .



Machine half back Aaron Emanuel gets six off the wheel route in the second quarter.



Barcelona score on the next drive when Jimmy Bell takes it 15 yards for six. Bell leads the Dragons with 2 rushing touchdowns after 4 games.



The Barcelona Dragons were fortunate enough to have 2 punters on the roster following Aguiar's injury. Keith English signed to the World League as a free agent during training camp and was assigned to El Cabanero in Barcelona. Keith first was a rookie free agent with the Rams in 1989 but didn't see action until appearing in 15 games in 1990. He put up 68 punts with a 53 yarder being his longest. In his senior year in 1988 at the University of Colorado Keith English was named to the All American team after averaging over 45 yards per punt. He downed 21 of his 51 attempts inside the 20. He spent the first three years of his college career watching Barry Helton earn 2 All American honors as a punter. Keith then earned the honor, and was proceeded by Ohio Glory punter Tom Rouen as an All American punter from the University of Colorado.



The Montreal Machine's defensive leader Reggie McKenzie makes the athletic play on the ball to close out the first half. McKenzie leads the Montreal football club in tackles, and is tied with interceptions.



Split end Thomas Woods shows his open hand as Erney is looking elsewhere throwing an incomplete pass.



Minute Rice gets only 1 drive in the 3rd quarter and isn't given enough of an opportunity to make a play.



A.J. Greene lights up as he creates his third turnover of the season for the Barcelona Dragons.



The Dragons inch towards the lead with Taylor's second endzone reception of the night.



But just four points away from the win column, Barcelona could not close the gap as Kris McCall made the play of the game in the 4th quarter. After 30 World League 1992 games, 11 have been decided by 4 points or less.

The awards were given out following week 4 of the 1992 season and North American Conference member Melvin Patterson scored the offensive honor while NFL Europe defensive end Malcolm Showell earned the defensive award following the domination of the Sacramento Surge.



Birmingham linebacker Junior Jackson has been a defensive force from his right outside linebacker position and his 4 sacks in week 4 award him the North American Conference defensive player of the week.



That team from Dusseldorf, the Rhein Miners!, sweep the NFL Europe week 4 player of the week honors with quarterback Major Harris enjoying a 3 touchdown day.

Thats what I try to accomplish.
Getting my custom WFL (World Football League) or WLAF (World League of American Football) back.
See my questions regadring mods in the Madden 2005 section.

In Madden 2004 I created the WFL with 16 American teams and 16 European teams.
The winner of the World Bowl (US vs EU) being the best team of the world.

Since I was actually in the stadium in Frankfurt (and travelled to Barcelona and later Amsterdam when it was the NFL Europa Leauge) and a huge fan
of the Galaxy (Season ticket holder for ever year) I created this true World League.
I wanted to keep the all existing teams but since some of the names got reused and rebranded ( Thunder from Orlando to Berlin, Fire from Birmingham to Rhine ) I thougth of similar names to be able to keep the Logos. My Orlando team is now called the Orlando Hurricane with jut a different Typo look bat the same Logo, Helmets etc. Same with the Rhine Fire, I renamed the Birmingham franchise to Blaze ( which also sounds better to me since both words start with a B) so I could keep the helmets with the Flames. (By the way "Miners" is actually a non fitting nickname for a franchise located in Düsseldorf like the Rhine Fire was) .
So my WLAF finally looked like this:
