Vikings Lose Tough One to Steelers, 21-17

We said that Antonio Brown is someone that could change the outcome of a game. We were correct.

The Vikings battled it out to the very end in the Steel City, but couldn't hang on to a late 3-point lead in the 4th. Dalvin Cook did play out of his mind, racking up over 175 YARDS in only his second game. He has the potential to go far.

Zimmer had some positive things to say during the postgame conference.

"We fought like hell, Dalvin played great, the defense held up until late, and I think this is was a mostly good performance."

The Vikes fly back to Minnesota to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

Well, as no surprise, another important Viking went down this week. During this outing Xavier Rhodes left the game with a hand injury and didn't come back. He has since been diagnosed with a broken hand and will most likely sit out for the rest of the year. Hooray.
So, that makes three now. Sam Bradford (Season), Teddy Bridgewater (7W HOORAY!), and now Rhodes (Season).

I await next week's announcement that Stefon Diggs is dead.

Vikings vs. Buccaneers: The Preview

We're back in business this Sunday with a marquee matchup between two promising teams as the Tampa Bay Buccaneers face the Minnesota Vikings on FOX. The keys to winning this game for the Vikings is to keep Jameis Winston from escaping the pocket. Put pressure on him and make him uncomfortable. On the offensive, they need to get the ball outside with a fast back to gain yardage and keep the chains moving down the field.
For the Bucs, it's all about the defense. They need to stop this offense, which has been crippled due to the lack of a true starting QB until about week 8. They need to keep the Vikes' D on the field for as long as possible and burn them out.

The Lions found themselves down early, but slowly clawed their way back, even tying the game, but from that moment, all hell broke loose. Coach Zimmer "Noticing Drastic Improvements" In Vikings Offense

The Vikings offense was notable for being quite inept last year, due to being behind an underachieving offensive line. However, head coach Mike Zimmer thinks that those issues are a thing of the past.

"You saw on Sunday that the offense was able to quickly put up points and capitalize on red-zone opportunites, something we never saw last year. I think that the O-line has done a great job giving our QBs time to throw the ball and move the chains."
The Vikings have been able to put up points in the 4 games they've played, with the least amount of points being 17. It's obvious that the offense has improved from last year. And the offense has also changed for the better for the defense as well.
"When we're moving the ball down the field and eating up clock time, it really takes a load off of us and helps us play at our fullest capacity.", Brian Robison told ST reporters.
This new-and-improved offense rolls on into Chicago on Monday night at 7:30 PM CST, where the Vikings face the Bears. SKOL

It's time for more football. Now that Sunday's slate of game are over, it's time for the final stage of the week: Monday Night Football, where the Purple People Eaters, the Zim Reapers, Minnesota Vikings, looking to get to 4-1, come to Chi-Town to match up against the Monsters of the Midway: DA BEARS, who are hungry for their first win of the season, five weeks in. Now to see how these two teams compare.

On paper, it obviously looks like the Vikings are the much better team. The've got a resurgent offense lead by Case Keenum of all people, a dangerous receiving core featuring Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen, and the spectacular rookie running back, Dalvin Cook. And we haven't even mentioned their number one-ranked defense, dashing the hopes of offenses everywhere. But don't count the Bears off so quickly. Underneath their 0-4 start lies a team with a formidable defense that should be taken seriously and an amazing running back duo of Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen. This is no pushover of team. But the biggest thing the Bears have against the Vikings, the X-Factor, would be Soldier Field. Since 2007, the Vikings have come away with just a single victory in the building, which could give Chicago the edge, but we'll hand this one to the Vikings, who will break their curse and handle this game, 34-17.
