Okay, so I skipped the entire preseason and decided that I will only play one game per season. Welcome back, by the way.

Vikings-Saints: A Future Classic?
foxsports.com

The Saints are coming off of another 7-9 season. The Vikings are trying to forget their lost 2016 season. Adrian Peterson packed his bags and left for the Saints, and this would create the dumbest coincidence in recent NFL memory.

Adrian Peterson's first NFL that he will play for any other team besides Minnesota, is none other than the team he's played for his entire career.

And this game has the potential to be a classic just because of the circumstances. Adrian Peterson felt slightly disrespected when the Vikings weren't willing to offer him another deal, so he's probably going to be playing with all he's got come next Monday.

The Vikings, on the other hand, look like a completely different team from 2 years ago. A loaded RB core, a confusing QB situation, and no Chad Greenway, makes for an....interesting 2017 season.

This is the setup for Monday's doubleheader. Watch it.

Yeah, I don't really know why, but I feel like I'm just out of it when it comes to playing madden during the summer. Of course you're probably talking about the IRL matchup, so...

Okay, now that the NFL season is in full swing, I'm motivated to continue this. Let's get back to work.

Vikings Squeeze By In Season Opener, 20-13
dailynorseman.com

That wasn't one of the better games I've seen, but we did get the job done, and that's what matters in the short term.
The Vikings offense wasn't much special except for Dalvin Cook, who picked up 98 rushing yards, 37 receiving yards, and 2 TDs in his debut against the New Orleans Saints (SUCK ON THAT, CHEATERS! SKOL). Sam Bradford did okay for the time he played, before being taken to the locker room for an undisclosed injury. He went 7 for 11 with 67 yards, a TD, and a pick. Bridgewater stepped in for the rest of the game and had a much less stellar performance, going 8-18, 118 yards, 1 TD, and an int.
Dalvin Cook had to be the high point of this game. He showed promise as an up-and-coming rookie, and has shown himself to be the number one option. The low point? Oh Jesus Christ, what is this? You had the chance to capitalize on a backwards pass thrown by CHASE DANIEL, yet you let an offensive lineman pick it up and TURN ON THE JETS AND BURN THE ENTIRE DEFENSE ON THE WAY TO THE END ZONE. FROM 75 YARDS OUT. I DON'T UNDERSTAND. What made matters worse is that this is the play that sparked their comeback and helped them take a 13-10 lead with less than 2 minutes to go. Be lucky that Bridgewater decided to take control.
The Vikings head off to Pittsburgh on Sunday to face the Steelers, who are coming off of a big 34-6 win over the Browns.

Teddy Bridgewater Out With Dislocated Thumb
espn.com

The Vikings are only one week in and they can't escape injuries. Bridgewater, named the starter after Bradford was placed on IR, now will be sitting out for, at the most, 7 weeks. This leaves the Purple with Case Keenum as their starter as they travel to Pittsburgh and beyond.

Vikings @ Steelers: The Preview
thevikingage.com

The Vikings, being lead by Case Keenum at the moment, are in Pittsburgh for a test of strength against the Steelers. Both teams are coming off of wins last week on the opening slate of games. Now let's get down to business.

Offense

The Steelers are packed with weapons, featuring a big 3, starring Ben Roethlisberger, LeVeon Bell, and Antonio Brown. Martavis Bryant also makes for a great second option. Losing Sammy Coates to the Browns was a loss in terms of depth, but they'll be fine without him. The Vikings, on the other hand, are quite deep in terms of weapons. 3 RBs with the potential to do great things in Dalvin Cook, Jerick McKinnon, and Latavious Murray, and WRs Stefon Diggs, Adam Thielen, and Jarius Wright. The downside? Losing Cordarrelle Patterson to the Raiders, and starting Case Keenum at QB.

Defense

The Steelers are missing a big piece in their defense, known as Ryan Shazier. However, they can still prove themselves to be a formidable bunch, featuring the eternal James Harrison and up-and-coming rookie T.J. Watt. The Vikings are still stacked featuring their top notch front seven, and a lockdown secondary.

Well, on paper this looks like an easy Vikings victory with them boasting the better D and a strong offense, but the Steelers have the one thing that the Purple don't: game changers. AB and LB can change the course of a game because those are the types of players they are. This will make for a strong matchup Sunday.

Vikings @ Steelers. Be there.
