2023 - Recap of the team

QBs

In the beginning of this season the Dolphins staff
spend a first round draft on QB #16 D. Johnson, who made a good preseason impression
and see very little action in the regular season games... play mostly in garbage time
not passing for a TD yet, but already have his first pick...

QB #6 J. Stephens was drafted by the Dolphins, but he didn't improve much, since was picked...
seems he will only be a backup for this franchise...

HBs
Image
Image
Image

HB #28 L. Hill receive the majority of the work load this season.. he was very good in the passing game also...
he almost didn't receive the ball in the couple seasons with the team
HB #46 K. Sanders came from Free Agency, but have only a couple of carries this year.

the age come to everyone, and for HB #31 J. Holt isn't different.. the 2x MVP is now the third back
of the team... only for short yards situation... he lost his top speed, and can't make great runs...

Image

HB #42 L. Freeman was the starting FB this season... he have the bigger frame between the running backs in the roster... he gets a lot of experience running flat routes this season...

WRs
Image
Image
Image
Image

"The Ohio's Storm" came to stay... the Offense average 30,2 pts per game
and WR #87 L. Mann is the new man of the group... have a decent participation in spread plays...

TEs
Image
Image

the Offense use very few times the two TEs on the field in the same time...
so TE #86 J. Forbes have little action... TE #88 S. Williams is the more realiable receiver on the team

O-Line
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image

LG #69 C. Jones have the most chemistry with QB #5 J. Fox III
so he is the starter LT... he could lose this spot, 'cause he allowed 6 sacks this year

RG #61 L. Larson is the LG, he have his best season so far, allowing only 3 sacks this season
is almost sure, he is be converted to LT next season... a position who he already have played in
couple seasons ago... Larson is starter since the 2014 season;

RG #64 J. Crawford drafted in 2015... starter since 2018... he evolved to be one of the best on the league
he allowed only 20 sacks since became starter (6 seasons)... least on the team..

RT #73 L. Jennings was named starter as RT in the preseason... he wins the battle position
over RT #77 D. Finley who was the starter last year and receive a lot of criticism from fans and media..

D-Line
the 3-4 Dolphins Defense aren't made great seasons since the last title (2020) when they avg 15,5 pts a game
this season they finished with 25pts/game allowed...

DT #91 A. Haynes is the cornerstone of this Defense... DT #94 T. Walsh is learning behind him
they should replace him in the next years..

the Defense have a great need in edge rushers, drafted RE #95 C. Sellers who didn't have the expected impact
only RE #96 B. Howard is above average...

LBs
Image
Image
Image
Image

MLB #50 E. Parrish is the Defense Captain... the veteran almost reach the 1k career tackles in this season
LOLB #56 Z. Turlan is a no-brainer starter last season... LOLB #51 B. Adkins promise to be The Next Big Thing
for this group...

DBs
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image
Image

the Corner Backs groups is the best of the team, CB #47 L. Smith and CB #48 I. Clausen made a heck of a duo..
CB #45 J. Thompson improved from last year, he could will naturally step up in the next year...

the problem in the secondary came with the Safetys...
the veteran SS #26 T. Myers is being burned all season in deep routes...
SS #38 D. Taylor will probably steal this position next fall...

FS #20 B. Zimmerman still young and have room to grow...

K
Image

K #7 T. Butler is a legend... he is pretty reliable... he have a 55 long FG
but if you look close... he almost never need to kick long field-goals

Zimmerman and Myers are both so slow :o I bet both of them are giving up a lot of long touchdowns.

I think your defense would improve if some combination of Barker, Taylor and Hood steal starting spots next year. The other thing you could do is run a lot of Cover 3, which puts your fastest defenders with the more difficult deep responsibilities against #1 and #2 receivers. That would put Myers in underneath zone coverage like a linebacker, which is basically what he is anyway.

Since I'm talking about DBs, I'd also rather see Shelton as a future starter than Thompson. Thompson's speed is more suitable for the slot position.

Yes, a lot... If you go back to the AFC Championship Game, you could see the Colts throwing deep... 2 big play for more than 70 yards;

I agreed with all of you said... but I'm really don't expect that both Taylor and Hood could do a much better job than the actual starters...
and I think this will be the natural path of the Defense for next year... and probably the first need in the Draft

Note: I almost always let the CPU play with the defense, but when I play, I'm control the SS... but I don't call audibles to change the play... only change for "show blitz" for example... also I usually not change the Depth Chart of the Defense...

2024 OFFSEASON

Postby achernar » Mon Dec 04, 2017 6:38 am

NFL DRAFT 2024

for the five time in the franchise history the Patriots
will select first in the Draft....

The new coaching staff in New England (after the end of Belichick era)
selected LE #91 J. Tucker, the unanimous best pass rusher in the class
former Fighting Irish he have the perfect combination of Strength and Acceleration..
Image

Raiders pick HB #23 B. Dumas, I really want to see how he will
develop, 'cause he is a freak in college, but against lower competition
Image

Look at this guy... WR #87 L. Bailey have 6'6" height
and a top speed... he is phenomenal... he is a monster
could even play as TE...
he will have a impact in this season for Bears... for sure

(just dreaming with this guy playing with Fox III)
Image

The first quarterback taken is QB #14 M. Taylor from Nebraska
Michael is son of Zac Taylor, one of the best QBs in Husker history
he knows how to run a pro-style offense, is pretty accurate in most throwns
have the size and the background to be NFL quarterback...

in college, Taylor put Nebraska back on the map...
that is what 49ers expect from him..
Image

QB #3 O. J. Buckley is the classic college QB
he can move the chains with his legs... but with he didn't improve
his progressions, he will not survive in the league...
for the Falcons he is the favorite type of quarterback
Like Vick was, and Young a couple years ago...
Image

HB #29 K. Humphrey, former Arkansas Razorback, he is a multi-purpose back
who can receive a ton of load in the Titans Offense... Humphrey is a steal for Tennesse
late in the first round... he have great competition in college
Arkansas is back on track after the great contribution of this great athlete.
Image

LT #79 C. Warfield should stay this year in the bench... or playing in the RT position
the product of Michigan have the ceiling to be the next franchise Left Tackle for Washington..
Image

TE #88 D. Price have top speed... he could play as WR if he wanted...
in last season he ties the record for most receiving touchdowns in school history (with 18)...
Image

FREE AGENTS

SS #21 R. Lewis didn't resing with the Bills
Image

Fox will renew with the Dolphins... and this could be his last contract
