Re: Anchorage Blizzard in the FI Football League
First depth chart
QB: 5 Lester Larson (92/27), 3 Alan Mathis (84/22), 6 Dave Burke (84/24)
Larson is the starter, but there are a few questions: one or two backups? And how much do you let them play to develop themselves?
HB: 28 Dwayne Foster (89/27), 20 Tavian Armstrong (82/22), 33 Damon Stevens (79/22)
Is it the year Foster finally breaks out? Does Stevens have what it takes to stick to the roster?
FB: 48 David Jordan (99/27), 40 Joey Miller (86/23), 30 C.J. Harris (65/21)
TE: 87 Luther Jenkins (92/23), 83 Anthony Hansen (97/26), 84 Lamar Jansen (78/32), 80 Clint Sanders (73/21), 86 Peter Jackson (77/24)
Strong FB/TE corps, both in the passing game and for blocking.
WR: 85 Brenden Bowens (99/29), 88 Lester Walker (99/33), 12 Kurt Shade (86/28), 17 Daryl Rutledge (86/30), 25 Devon Caudle (80/29)
Anchorage will have to be more creative with its wide receivers, so you can expect a lot more of Walker and Shade. Caudle has been converted from blocking CB back to WR but we think it is in order to trade or release him.
LT: 78 Santana McAllister (98/28), 74 Rich Marshall (80/23), 77 Jevan Parker (75/22)
LG: 63 Blaine Collier (92/26), 71 Adam Atkinson (78/25)
C: 62 Dimitrius Collier (93/26), 64 Louie Burton (73/24)
RG: 76 Cornelius Page (99/28)
RT: 79 Ricky Curry (96/30), 72 Kylan Haley (77/25)
Very strong offensive line but there might be some retooling to do... maybe. Interesting note: all players currently listed as LT are 6'8, with rookie Marshall the heaviest at 383 (and also least mobile at SPD 46).
LE: 50 John Jackson (99/27), 96 Moe Swan (86/25), 94 Randy Baker (78/33)
DT: 99 LeRoy Pickens (86/32), 95 Terrance Claybrooks (78/30), 90 Clyde Boston (78/24)
RE: 97 Avery Flowers (83/27)
Starters are already a lock, with Swan getting a lot of playing time. Baker rarely plays defense anymore but is valuable for his blocking on punt returns.
LOLB: 57 Craig Rudd (89/29), 55 Terrell Brown (73/30), 52 Germane Shields (70/22), 59 Terrence Maguire (67/24)
MLB: 51 Anthony Braxton (90/23), 92 C.J. Owen (73/21), 53 Keyon Vales (73/26), 54 Jon Klein (70/27), 56 Wayne Gill (67/30), 98 Dan Marsh (65/23)
ROLB: 35 DeRon Holland (84/29), 58 Norm Reese (72/28), 91 Lorenzo Fischer (71/22)
LB/CB: 47 Brock Clayborn (92/24)
Huge logjam at linebacker. The starters are pretty much decided, but there could be some shuffling and releasing.
CB: 49 Raven Bender (95/29), 22 Clyde Brady (87/23), 27 Shannon Looman (76/24), 8 Riley Rogers (79/27), 37 Don Henderson (75/23), 7 Evan Warrick (75/23)
FS: 12 Kurt Shade (91/28), 44 Andy Johnson (84/25), 38 Leonard Joyner (84/22), 34 Ricky Cash (81/25), 32 Marty Truman (80/28)
SS: 23 James Newsome (78/23), 41 Cortez Lucas (82/29), 39 Jarred Waters (76/30), 24 Michael Ward (75/22)
There might be some rearrangement here to make, all taking in consideration to keep enough players to block on special teams.
K: 4 Rod Sparks (77/35)
P: 2 Joseph Diamond (95/32)
KR/PR: 88 Lester Walker, 22 Clyde Brady, 12 Kurt Shade

Notes:
-It is the final year of Lester Walker at full speed, so you can expect him to be heavily involved in the game plan.
-Kurt Shade is listed as WR2 because he will mostly line up wide opposite Brenden Bowens. Walker will be more of a wild card, lining in the slot, wide or in the backfield.
-Retooled o-line, with Ricky Curry moving to LG to allow rookie Rich Marshall to play at RT.
-Speedy LB Jon Klein moves outside, while Marty Truman moves to CB to be the primary backup and on special teams.
-Following his release, longtime special-teamer Wayne Gill was issued a special thank you by the team. Despite being rated below OVR 70, he stuck with the team for 7 years.

Re: Anchorage Blizzard in the FI Football League
Season 132 recap
What a riveting season! The Blizzard returned to glory, at least in the regular season, by going 16-0.
3-way player Kurt Shade won MVP honors with a sensational season. On offense, he caught 107 passes for 2847 yards and 38 TDs. Defensively, he had 69 tackles, 8 interceptions and 2 fumble recoveries. While a good ball hawk, he is not renowned for being able to return many interceptions for TDs. BUT, this year, he had 4 defensive TDs. All while blocking on special teams.
Lester Walker won OPOY by accounting for 50 TDs (33 receptions, 12 rushes and 5 passes). If you also include special teams, he accounted for 6846 all-purpose yards and 70 TDs.
Dwayne Foster ran out of steam by the end of the season, but he still showed he can do great things when relied upon.
John Jackson edged Shade for the DPOY award. He had 87 tackles, 58 sacks, 4 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries and an interception. Brock Clayborn also had another great season. FS Andy Johnson also had a breakout season with 5 interceptions, and MLB Anthony Braxton was a good support on the pass rush, with 16 sacks.
In the trenches, Santana McAllister and Cornelius Page were in the zone, both tallying over 100 pancakes and just 2 sacks allowed each. Defensively, LeRoy Pickens and Moe Swan did great despite not accumulating that many stats.
The next test will be against the Kingfish (again) in the divisional round. Stay tuned!

Re: Anchorage Blizzard in the FI Football League
Here is a statistical recap of a huge season by Kurt Shade and Lester Walker.

Re: Anchorage Blizzard in the FI Football League
Offseason activity
The Blizzard released TE Lamar Jansen, signed WR Jermane Crockett and brought back OL Adam Atkinson and CB Shannon Looman.
They traded aging superstar CB Raven Bender to the Storm for the 13th overall pick.
They also sent WR/RS Lester Walker, the 30th and the 32nd pick to the Wallabies for LB Tim Danielson, the 4th pick and the 10th pick.

Draft recap
10. FS Ben Johnson (85/21), Florida A&M
13. WR Ronald Pounds (87/21), Ole Miss
17. CB J'Marcus Wilkins (79/21), Clemson
43. OLB K.C. Vazquez (81/22), N'western State
49. QB Henry Manning (76/21), Florida A&M
85. MLB Warren Nash (77/22), Florida State
139. FB Marshall Dorsey (80/22), Pittsburgh
147. HB Robert Paris (72/22), BYU
158. LG George Green (78/23), Montana State
160. TE Casper Gooden (82/23), Michigan
170. OLB Natrone Jones (69/23), Tennessee
173. RG Wendell Hopkins (71/22), Marshall
180. FB Asher Ferris (75/22), Florida A&M
Johnson is slow for a safety (SPD 85), but his size (6'3, 219) and some other attributes (STR 79, ACC 92, AGI 88) could make him a good linebacker. However, he will have to work on his tackling (TAK 67).
Pounds might be the steal of the draft. Definite candidate to replace Lester Walker as a receiver (SPD 98, ACC 93, AGI 99, CTH 81).
Wilkins' dash result was better than his actual game speed (SPD 95), and he might have to work his tackling (TAK 67), but he is a solid addition to the defensive backfield.
Vazquez is quick (SPD 87, ACC 85, AGI 88) and already a decent tackler (TAK 80).
Manning has phenomenal accuracy for a rookie, but his arm strength is problematic (THP 64, THA 92).
Nash could be a great backup to Anthony Braxton.
Dorsey was brought as an additional blocker for special teams, but he didn't impress so far.
Paris was projected to go undrafted, but the Blizzard liked his speed (SPD 97). He is in the mold of legend Sterling Maclin, but he is a definite project for the time being. He has trouble going past the first contact, and has had fumbling issues (BTK 66, CAR 68).
Green will have to battle to stay on the depth chart, but he has some tools of a good project (STR 96, PBK 81, RBK 80, AWR 73).
Gooden is also a project but he could be a receiver (CTH 74) or a blocker (RBK 57) or both.
Jones and Hopkins were both gambles, and we don't think they have the skills to stay on the roster.
Ferris is the fastest FB on the roster (SPD 82) but he's not a great receiver out of the backfield (CTH 57). Will the team try to develop him along current backup Joey Miller?
