I compared your roster to the original and have finally got a copy of Madden 08 to try it. The game kept crashing on franchise mode, so I suspect it is either a problem with the SAVEPLAIN and SAVEDATA folders being overwritten once you start Franchise. I haven't been able to find a solution as yet.

I got it to work by editing a legit franchise save here it is if you want to try. Wonder if you can edit the schedule with this?

Good work. I tried editing the roster save, but each time I entered franchise, it kept overwriting the roster with the franchise save.
So that must mean that the franchise roster is kept in a seperate folder to the roster.

Week 7 Update. Added a few new players (Branden Oliver..), player transactions made 21/10/14.
Updated a few more player stats and in-game likenesses. (Still a few more to complete)

I know that in Madden 12, Skin color ID is as follows; 0 - Light, 1 - Medium & 2 - Dark. It is the same as Madden 08 PC.
I used the face ID's by leeman67 as a guide to match skin tone to player face ID.

Do you think there is a way to edit default roster so you can play adhoc with new rosters

Yes you can edit the default roster, but it requires that you edit the Iso image of the game and I'm guessing that to play ADHOC with new rosters will require that both players have the same roster.

To edit the default roster - you will first need to dump your UMD disc to .iso format or edit an existing iso of the game. I wont be able to give you details of where to get an iso image, but im sure google can direct you.

Once the disc is in iso format, download UMDGEN v4.00 (free software) and open the iso (it is a good idea to make a backup, incase you mess things up.
You can get UMDGEN 4.00 from here http://umdgen.en.lo4d.com/

Explore the disc contents and navigate to the location of your template.dat file. For Madden 08 it is under PSP_GAME/USRDIR/data/
Right click and extract the template.dat file to your PC.
Open the template.dat file with the Dat file replacer tool from MadmodX. You will see that the file contains 19 dat files.
Extract file#2 to your PC and edit it OR replace file#2 with your modified roster. You may need to rename the roster to the original file name (I think it is file00002) and make
sure that the depth charts are set (while in-game) before you save it.
Replace it back into the template.dat file.

Go back into UMDGEN and delete the original template.dat. Right click and add an existing file....(template.dat).
Save the iso image.
Open the newly created iso with a hex editor and compare the header (first few bytes) with the original iso image.
Both files should be the same size. Test the image and check that it works.
I have been able to get this to work on Madden 12 - but I am not sure about Madden 08.

NOTE: Interesting enough, you can use the same process to extract and edit other files from the game. At the moment - I am trying to find a way to unswizzle, mod, then re- swizzle bitmap images for the Madden series on PSP, PS2 and Madden09 on the original Xbox. If this can be done, then it will be possible to mod the PSP, PS2 and original xbox versions to almost Madden 08 PC proportions. Player portrait, uniform, menu and stadium mods anyone?
